~10 attempts total on my Blood DK, got it on my 4th today. Most of those consistently getting to phase 3, but I hate hate hate that bouncing black hole mechanic. Without that, I _maybe_ would've got this done in my first 6 attempts a week ago

Memes image of Aragorn and Theoden with undercuts and earrings saying "Chat, the beacon notification just hit. Gondor's asking for a carry" and "Say less."
Was feeling melancholy, but then I dug up Theoden with an undercut from my vault of memes

I built the entirety of the Skaven half of the 4th edition AOS launch box last night (it’s only taken 2 years…), but can’t do anything more with it right now because of the bloody winds

“You are not a Tech Bro
0% agreement with tech bro ideas.”
‘You scored 0%
That puts you in the “not a tech bro” range’
Below the text is a graph showing a plot of alignment against several criteria: meritocracy, solutionism, disruption, libertarianism, hustle, privilege, and Utopianism. As there is no alignment with any of them, the “plot” is just a dot in the centre

CSS or BS?
Think you know CSS? Real property or made-up nonsense? 20 rounds. No mercy.
Rather than the same old boring internet pranks, I thought I'd build something more fun this April Fools.
CSS or BS. Can you tell your CSS properties names from BS?

Apart from touching up a bit on the tail where I managed to get a big blob of Payne’s Grey, and maybe a sepia wash over the bone areas, I think this dude is finished

Industry fair banner for Allegheny shredders that reads:

Don't fall behind the times.

A work in progress Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip miniature, for Warhammer 40,000. It has red skin, a bone-coloured carapace, blue bio-weapons, and is on a goblin green base, reminiscent of the 2nd Edition colour scheme. It is on a messy desk with usb hubs and wires behind it
Very rough lunchtime WIP, as a break from tabletop scenery. Hot damn my eyes are bad at the moment

So I was watching the 1993 Finish Made For TV adaptation of The Lord of The Rings, and thought everyone should see the moment where Gollum falls into Mount Doom.

FWIW, if I assume Coat d'Arms 149: Angel Red is still true to the original, the nearest I have is Emberveil, from the new Army Painter John Blanche "Warm Tones" set. It's so close I can't tell them apart in most lighting
But SCIENCE! demands verification…

Spent £13 on a partially-used (but still good) pot of OG early-90's Blood Angel Orange, just so I can do some comparisons with modern equivalents.
Because that's a totally normal thing to do.

A painted industrial model module: a riveted cylindrical boiler mounted on a rectangular platform, linked to pipes, a grated walkway and exterior stairs; a small control panel with coloured dials is affixed to the boiler. Context: placed on a desk amid hobby supplies, with a visible bottle labelled “Superglue GP Industrial Grade” and a keyboard and laptop behind it.
Finally got around to finishing this Doctor Spork terrain piece for Warhammer 40K 2nd Edition. 12 year old me is giddy at finally having one of these to put on the table. (chrismcleod.photos/images/2026/03/29/46b6f7...

It's set between the end of the show and the 'Serenity' film. I can guess why: they consider Wash, and the Wash/Zoe relationship, too valuable. But this really is both a mistake and an act of creative cowardice. Whether that was the cast's call or the money's call the point stands.
Don't get me wrong: we have much bigger problems at the moment. But, to take a moment away from those problems and address a point of craft:
I can't believe the US is still - STILL - death-gripping the notion that prequels are a good idea. There's an inherent lack of tension in having *read the ending already*. An ending, I might add, that fueled a ton of unresolved tension - desire - to know *what happens after that ending*. Fans have held that tension for almost twenty years and this is what they get.
Prequels fundamentally disrespect the trust and investment viewers placed in what you made. If it was a story worth telling you'd have started there. On some level we all know we're being handed warmed-up leftovers.
Final point: I had no intention of supporting this as Baldwin (who plays Jane) was one of the main instigators of GamerGate and *created the hashtag*.
By association the cast approves of his company while also enriching him. If you're cool with providing work for a pop-eyed right-winger who created what is arguably the defining incel movement and marshalled an army of men to terrorize women for having careers and opinions then, frankly, nobody should feel safe working with you ever again. And you certainly shouldn't be supported.
Especially in this current moment.
Weak art, stale bread, handled by a dirtbag whose involvement diminishes everyone involved. Take a hike.
Thanks to Cam Rogers on Facebook for articulating exactly the issues around the new animated Firefly that's been announced.

A photo of a callout box from the 1994 book “The ‘Eavy Metal Modelling Guide”, describing how a conversion of a Dire Avenger Exarch was made, based on some artwork. A snippet of the artwork is on the left, a photo of the finished model in the bottom right, and descriptive text and commentary surrounds both
By chance, I was flicking through the ‘Eavy Metal Modelling Guide from 1994 at lunchtime, which includes this classic

An almost perfectly lozenge-shaped seal, lying on a plastic platform in a zoo, in such a way that its flippers are tucked underneath its body, barely visible, emphasising its fat, blubbery roundness. Its face looks disproportionately small on the front of the lozenge as it gazes into the middle distance

A YouTube thumbnail showing a transforming robot toy against a synthwave background, with the caption "This bot is cold". The thumbnail shows the toy as both a yellow and black robot, and as a yellow/orange ice-lolly.
I had no idea there was prior art in this area of ice-lolly themed Transformers - this video has been popping up in my YouTube recommendations for about 3 weeks now, and I assumed it was some new novelty 😅
