Mark Aldred secures wasted costs order following discontinued prosecution.
HHJ Crowther ordered the CPS to pay £9,960 after a dangerous driving case against a police officer was pursued for over a year before being discontinued shortly before trial.
Alex Mullen appeared on behalf of the Teaching Regulation Agency in the case of Jennifer Howie, accused of examination malpractice and aggressive and racist behaviour.

Field was originally convicted of the murder of Mr Farquhar in August 2019, following a trial at Oxford Crown Court. His appeal against conviction was heard on 28 January 2021.

Fiona Robertson of QEB Hollis Whiteman prosecuted Christopher Jackson who pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving arising out of a fatal collision on the pedestrianised area of The Strand on 18 March 2025.
The defendant entered guilty pleas to causing death by dangerous driving and to a further count of dangerous driving arising from the same course of conduct.

Philip McGhee of QEB Hollis Whiteman prosecuted R v Justin Clarke-Samuel at the Old Bailey, where the defendant (known professionally as Ghetts) was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment for causing the death of Yubin Tamang by dangerous driving.
The trial is expected to last four weeks.
