If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.
It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire.
1/ I’m going to explain to you in this🧵what I’ve learned - in part from closed door briefings - about the four biggest current crises.
I love that Hot Stick Saturday is a thang and will try to remember to participate.
I just discovered Dan Simmons recently and was nearly at the end of the fourth book in the Hyperion series when my library app sent it on to the next person on the list. It was complex and difficult reading at times, but I was hooked.
I was just wondering if there would ever be a 5th Hyperion book and I guess this answers that question.
Hmmm. I wonder what it could be...

Sunday coffee pot post
Today will be a studio day, but I might be taking it outside. It will be beautiful, then we'll be back to a couple of cold days. I'm excited about the redesign of my "Chaos!" tapestry. I researched the Eye of Horus and that led me to the Eye of Ra (or Re), so they will be…

Sunday coffee pot post
The tapestry weather diary as of Feb. 17, 2026 I've added a bit of flavored decaffeinated coffee to the pot so I can drink more of it this fine morning. My biggest news is that on my 65th birthday, which I celebrated on Tuesday, I received word that I was awarded a week-long…
Art Update and Winter Storms
The pussy willow outside our back door Polar vortex report: We were slammed with two winter storms one week apart severe enough to be granted the names of Fern and Gianni. Fern was sleet and ice, what we normally get around here when we get any winter weather. No fun…
Reporter: You received a letter from AG Pam Bondi making several demands….
Walz: I would just give a pro tip to the AG. There's 2 million documents in the Epstein files we're still waiting on. Go ahead and work on those

Currently on the looms
Well. Not all the looms. I have a lot of looms! tapestry diary I am pleased with how the tapestry weather diary is coming along. Last year I purposely started it in a bit of a chaotic design, but this year I have taken what I learned and calmed it down. It is more structured…
Drank a pint of Smithwick's and now listening to Pablocito purr.
Kimberly Hardy is running for Congress in the southeastern NC district where I grew up and often visit. A high poverty, high crime area that desperately needs an intelligent, empathetic representative who will work for the people, especially people of color and women.
Brilliant!
beginning of woven tapestry on frame loom
I finally settled on a scheme for my 2026 tapestry diary. Still weather themed with a coded color for every five degree range of temperature from 0 to 100 F, but the high temp for each day color is on the bottom of each tiny rectangle and the low temp is on the top. #tapestrydiary #tapestry #weaving
Daily practice
I think that I've figured out that I'm going back to stitching and creating woven pieces with cloth strips and paper every day and integrating found objects as I get a whim. The ones that I've done in the past provided me with a lot of pleasure. However, the problem with this plan…
2026 and current project, plans
First, here's my current tapestry project. I'm still musing over a title because it is truly abstract. What I've noticed is that the lines and shapes have taken on lives of their own in my mind. Right now I'm leaning toward "Fuzzy Dreams." The inspiration and…
2025 Wrap-up
It's time for my annual ritual of summarizing the previous year and writing about my hopes and plans for the next year. In 2025, I let go of more of my blogging and turned my blog into more of a web site. A Harris hawk flies at the raptor release at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum…
This pretty much says it all
Rich people really are clueless about how most healthcare is in the US. (see comments in OG post) What I remember about our health crisis while visiting Scotland is how surprised we were that the ambulance was free, and also how money or insurance was not mentioned at the A&E.
Well hell, just not having to decide whether to take the risk of driving yourself to the ER or cleaning out your savings to call an ambulance would be worth UHC right there.
I saw Kids in the Hall and I crushed heads when I was an adult.
Rascal, a black and white tuxedo cat, yawns widely while rubbing his head on a box.
Sissy, a white and black cat, poses seductively on a large Christmas gift.
Photos from catsitting before Christmas - my feline nephew and niece. No fibers were consumed - Rascal was yawning! Sissy sez "I'm all the Christmas gift you need, baby." #caturday
I tried this in Notepad and it worked. What I found interesting was that the redacted part that Notepad showed did not identify anyone. Did they simply redact some parts at random?
