Right now, my morale

Not to mention massive evictions in Seint Saint Denis, where non white people tend to live, to make place for the olympics, and the fact that Paris is pretty small so even of 1/4 are lower income, most live in very segregated neighborhoods. Either that of I live in Alternate Universe Dystopia Paris

There's hundreds of people homeless living in tents,

Each year there are multiple cases of people living like rats in undeclared attics or other apartments

Oh and this GROSSLY misrepresents the reality of the situation.

But I'm not surprised, it's the NYT

Paris itself isn't that big and there always been a wave of pushing people outside of Paris proper. So thos numbers feel weird to me living there and seeing on a daily basis people evicted and pushed farther to "clean" the city for the olympics. It is a very segregated area, i can go in more details

it can also screw up big ones financially provided more votes go somewhere else. Exactly what happened at the last presidentials with long standing political parties (PS, LR, mostly) didn't score the required 5% and ended up with massive losses. Whether they'll try the next ones now is up in the air

I don't know how it works outside of france but here, voting can make boycotting a party more efficient, lemme explain:
Whatever money (within a certain amount) is spent during campain is given back to spender if they score at least 5% of votes. While it hurts small parties ->

It wasn't easy, many were against constitutionalizing this right with the argument "it isn't at risk of being challenged here" which is at best turning a blind eye on thr rise or the far right. thankfully the incessant fight paid off for once, but many still voted against it.
but yeah, celebration!

Ha, comme quelqu'un dirait la subtilité c'est de droite. Le même genre de personne trouvent l'idée de Fight Club cool ou hurlent "aouh aouh aouh" quand on leur demande leur métier.

I'd say the wig isn't necessary when you already have the teeth and contacts. Plus you might be more comfortable.

Will it be enough to make me forget about Highlander: The Source... I seriously doubt it but at least I'll be able to heal I suppose.

It's an odd feeling to bond with someone over how terrible our previous exes were. Like, I do appreciate them but precisely for that reason I'd rather they didn't have similar stories yet that's partly why we bond and appreciate each other but still could horrible people just get broken knees now?

Meant to write "Mozart"
Now the problem with a patron system is the same with charity, ie. rich people deciding over what's worth their money, so basically they pay for what caters to them and no thanks we already live in an unegalitarian society
Patron is the french word for boss, quite litterally.

Not to mention Mozray had patrons, most "classical" artists either had that or were rich to begin with. Basically the least one has concerns over how they're going to get by the more they can practice their craft.
So yeah, the more life is affordable the more people can pursue an artistic carreer.

Art needs skill. It takes time to get skills. If you want more great art, give people more control of their time.

This is basically why reading Gideon the Ninth to my lover is progressing so slowly.
If being rested enough to tackle a work day wasn't a consideration, we'd likely stay awake longer and stay in bed longer the following morning
