Not a given for Mills at all. Collins is still formidable. Maine politics can be super local. We were just talking about this phenomenon! Everyone remembers the moors (barely in the book), no one remembers the property relations (so much of the book) But it is one of the weirdest and disturbing books—the narrators alone!—really worth a read.
