I live in a dense area of N. Portland, and my sense of community has literally never felt stronger, even though I and most of my neighborhood friends live in apartments. Upzoning means more neighbors, and more neighbors means richer communities. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!

I lived in the fastest growing zip code in the U.S. for 6 years and guess what. It rocked. I saw a lot of cranes and cool buildings and so many new neighbors! Life rocked! This is my argument in favor of Inner Eastside For All.

It feels so damn good to be at Portland City Hall tonight for the Inner Eastside for All Resolution rally and Council hearing. The first @pnwelcome.bsky.social annual gathering that I attended was the 2022 event where we voted to pursue Inner Eastside for All as our next big housing campaign.

It’s been so great to see @councilormorillo.bsky.social take the lead on this!!! The faster we get the ball rolling on zoning the faster we get more homes in these high opportunity, transit-rich neighborhoods!

This proposal is the culmination of years of community work. @pnwelcome.bsky.social led a coalition of 20+ organizations housing advocates, environmental justice groups, climate activists, transportation reformers in the “Inner Eastside For All” campaign to push for this upzone.

Today’s the day!
