Mastodon.social is being DDoS right now. That's bad. It was bad when Bluesky was DDoSed. It's bad when open social platforms are attacked.

It's notable that Sen. Ossoff is pressing this attack in a tight re-election fight in a purple state. The rest of the party needs to pay attention.
The dog never really wants to catch the car, it just wants to bark and run in circles without consequence
please send JD Vance to campaign for every republican senator up for reelection
put him front and center, photo ops, tv spots, the whole nine yards
The DNC had a chance to openly and concretely reject AIPAC’s growing influence on our elections & they turned it down.
I’ve made a different choice.
I’m a Courage Candidate @citizensimpeachment.com, endorsed by @trackaipac.com. I refuse AIPAC money, and am loud in my support for a free Palestine.
When members of Congress say they want "someone" to use the 25th, they're passing the buck.
They need to force a vote on impeachment themselves via Rule IX.
Congress: Don't cross your fingers and hope that Trump's cabinet of sycophants does the right thing. Do the right thing yourselves.
I called your office this morning and said that if you're not currently there, I expect that you'll be on the next plane to DC to do whatever it takes to put a stop to this. I appreciate that you are supporting the latest impeachment resolution. I'll keep your actions close in mind for the primary.
I've now seen several posts from Democratic US Senators and House Reps calling for Congress to return to DC, and my only reaction to seeing these is: Do it. Just get on a plane and go back to DC. The House is in Recess, not adjourned. There was a pro forma session today. Go. Lead by example.
I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.
Donald Trump is openly threatening war crimes against the entirety of Iranian civilization.
25th Amendment proceedings must begin immediately, but if the Cabinet is too cowardly, the House should begin the impeachment process now.
Screenshot of a tweet by Rep. Ted Lieu stating that U.S. military law prohibits war crimes, including strikes on civilian infrastructure that cause disproportionate harm. The tweet warns that service members must disobey illegal orders and could face prosecution by a future administration if they commit war crimes.
Rep. Ted Lieu isn't backing down.
Trump truth social post: A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
Sickeningly evil. Donald Trump must be impeached.
When will it be enough for my Republican colleagues to grow spines and remove him from office?
How is every Democrat not calling for Trump to be removed from office, whether it’s highly unlikely or not?
The American people know he is exceedingly dangerous. Show them that you are with them.
Let’s not misunderstand what the president is saying in his latest unhinged rant. He is calling for genocide by our hand. He is calling for war crimes while those with the ability to stop him refuse to do so.
This is what our nation has become.
The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity. He must be removed from office.
The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.
Some reports say over 500 schools, 55 libraries, & 25 universities hit.
You can debate the numbers, but hitting Sharif University & Beheshti is like hitting MIT & Stanford. I keep wondering: How would the scientific community respond differently if it was those universities? What’s the difference?
Does the new "institutional neutrality" require the leaders of US universities to remain silent as their government systematically destroys Iran's universities? www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/202...
I mean, Murphy's not wrong, but he is part of a certain branch of government that is supposed to check the President's power. Senator Murphy, how about you get together with some of your colleagues in the House and make a plan to impeach him? We can't rely on the sycophant's cabinet to check him...
"Join me in impeaching Donald Trump" is a great message, easy to say, will get loads of media attention because the word "impeach" tends to do that. Also, it communicates URGENCY.
I’ve you’re in Congress right now and you’re not pulling out every stop available to you in an attempt to stop this then you own it every bit as much as Trump owns it.
that the president is making unhinged threats of war crimes on easter sunday should be an immediate presidency-ending scandal and that the media is rewriting this as just a normal negotiating tactic should be a career-ending scandal for everyone involved
The question is of course whether that is what will be taught, whether the people doing the teaching will have adequate training to do so, whether the better and worse uses are based on vibes, whether thinking is preserved, etc. But the ignoring the issue entirely certainly is not working. See:
A better world is possible if we fight for it together. Help us take the power back and put people first, not billionaires or genocidal foreign countries.
At a time when trans people are being targeted, blamed, legislated against and pushed to the margins, we fight back in solidarity 🏳️⚧️
Attacks on trans communities are part of a bigger pattern: blaming the vulnerable to keep us divided so they can steal from us. We’re not falling for it.
I don't see this said enough: the widespread use of generative AI is not only making our jobs as educators harder logistically, but also emotionally. It is genuinely sad to be suspicious of students when you have spent so much time building a pedagogy based on trust and not being a cop. It sucks.
The US bombed a primary school in Iran, killing 168 girls.
Why is nobody talking about this anymore?
These abominable war crimes should not be forgotten — and nor should the lives, hopes and dreams of human beings who were slaughtered with impunity.
Yes. AI as a rhetorical project is drastically muddying the waters. Which is what some people want -- see also: IoT -- but I'm inclined to be very specific in saying what AI projects I think are terrible and why.
