I sure hope they don't ignore what Erikawa has done to expose the dearth of female oriented content in the market. Truly one of the industry greats. I hope her successor is an embodiment of her efforts to move the industry forward.

It's almost like firing a bunch of veteran generals and forbidding soft power approaches is antithetical to how Pax Americana actually worked.....
Conflict requires stakes, and if the stakes are too low it can lead to a softer less intense story. There is only so much depth to a character's inner drama and emotions you can explore without conflict. Suffering is just conflict by another name, except it can be mc vs their past or the environment
Like how do you even eat this? Is the real tech to buy cheap buns and one of these so you can all have a burger with your homies?

Never has a puzzle game made me feel like I was experiencing my own personal narrative. Haunting, emotional, maddening. My game of 2025 for a reason. If you do play it, just know 'nothing is as it seems'.
Kind of tired of people talking about raising taxes on the rich like taxes are a punishment. They are an investment in your home and your neighbors.
All we are asking for is to reinvest in all the things that made you wealthy so your kids can be too. And yet... Tooth and nail they fight against it

While this recommend has no demo, 'No I'm Not A Human' creator Nikita Veter and their team at Trioskaz have proven they know how to write compelling intimate horror. Fantastic trailer as well.

One of my favorite bio-fantasys of the 2020's. It's more of a visual novel than a game, but it's a damn good one. If you like marine biology or nature doc style 'dramas' about strange creatures this is it!
All my homies want a Bloodborne remake but tbh I kind of want a DS2 remake using a more modernized combat system (if not Elden Ring even DS3's comat system would bean improvement).

Metro Gravity is a unique platformer with rhythm game elements. It's mechanically complex, has smooth controls and satisfying to master. With beautiful level and sound design it deserves a look and listen!
I mean I'd personally consider Nidhogg an arena fighter but I think we have already discussed our differing opinion on the definition of a fighting game in the past so let's not rehash it. Nidhogg is dope either way.

About Fishing has a hauntingly beautiful art style and a slow burn narrative of crime, trauma, and vulnerability. It's still just in demo right now, but do some chill fishing so you can get chills fishing.
Tbh that's my usual vibe. But this year? I feel like the amount we are squandering is vastly overshadowing my usual jubilation. Increasingly it feels like we don't live in a society....
Dungeon Crawler Carl is a book series about rebellion, rejecting the ruling class, the meaning and value of pets and other forms of found family, and has a wide sweeping world build filled with brilliant and nonsensical shit.
Reading DCC is like reading a series of interconnected train wrecks. 8/10

URGENT! The Massachusetts House just passed a "social media ban" that would force YOU to upload a government ID or submit to a face scan to post online. CALL YOUR STATE SENATORS! 978-485-4694
Okay bluesky I need your help
I live in Massachusetts. You might think we're a bastion of lefty intellectualism but our state government a clusterfuck of post-puritan real estate bros
Reskeet this. Text it to your "friends from home"

Or rather the real house was the friends we leave behind....
I really appreciate how Uzumaki is right next to House of Leaves <3 perfect book order.
So many people love the book to bits, I'd be shocked if something like that never happened. And yes it could even.... be yoooooouuuuu -spooky noises-
TBH I just want a really well thought out unfiction that does it without just 'literally being house of leaves'. I think it's the most directly useful format for it and House of Leaves is kind of the corner stone for unfiction in the first place.
Might be cool if someone more competent gave another crack at it.
I'm not sure House of Leaves would ever make sense as a film. It's so much a love child of mixed media more than anything else. I'd almost say it'd feel off to make a film of it.
But the idea of the Navidson records itself being a movie.... Well "You Should Have Left" certainly didn't succeed.
As a fan of liminal horror I'm biased obviously.
I personally find his other work "The Oldest View" to be an over all stronger piece of art and a closer mirror to House of Leaves over all in terms of it's formula and how it uses liminal spaces to tell a deeper more human centered story.
Like are you giving an accurate description of who it appeals to? Probably.
Is there a chance Kane read it during the creation of the movie? Absolutely.
Is the whole thing impressive? I think so. His other work certainly shows how much potential there is to the genre.
Idk I feel like this take kind of dissociates the art from the artist.
The original backrooms thing was a creepy pasta. Then Kane who was like 16 at the time made the yt series and it blew up from there. I don't think I'd expect someone his age to even be aware of the series until later.
I'm looking forward to seeing your take on action combat with monsters. Every action combat system has really failed to feel like it has depth or strategy in it for 3d monster tamer games so far. Crema's depth and complexity are their strongest feature to me even if it makes it more niche.
Honestly what Pokemon game does this even look like to people? Palworld maybe, but Pokemon???
