For the first time, we now know how many Black-owned bookstores exist in the U.S. The National Association of Black Bookstores has released the “first comprehensive national report” on the state of America’s Black-owned bookstores.

There has never been an official, comprehensive record of Black-owned bookstores across the United States — until now

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

Red Canadian Flag Cap | Canada Day Hat Made in Canada Shop the Red Canadian Flag Cap by Maple Beaver. A Canada Day hat proudly made in Canada with embroidered flag and slogan.

Fellow Canadians, I have found a Very Canadian Hat! Granted, to be Perfectly Canadian it ought to say 'Usually Great', or 'Pretty Great', because we're not so boastful, but it is actually made here in Canada 🍁 (Cool shirts at this store, too, also made here)

Do audiobooks count as reading?
“However we read — by eye, by ear or both — it all count…the brain makes meaning and the identity of being a reader takes hold. We need more readers, however they get there.” Brian Bannon NY Public Library

This is a lie. All 31 Moms for Liberty candidates in contested races lost their 2025 elections. The only "wins" were in uncontested races. Apparently, being hypocritical, book-banning scolds isn't so popular.

California, this November 4th, the whole country is counting on you.

Prop 50 puts our elections back on a level playing field, preserves independent redistricting over the long term, and lets the people decide.

So return your ballot today. Vote yes on 50.

Since I administered the WH emoluments rules, let me explain why this is forbidden

Trump expressed interest in it before it was offered

He is going to use & benefit from it a while in office

And he's going to keep using it after he leaves!

Functionally, it's a gift to him & so it's illegal

President Trump fired our nation’s Librarian, Dr. Carla Hayden, by email at 6:56pm tonight, taking his assault on America’s libraries to a new level.

Over the course of her tenure, Dr. Hayden brought the Library of Congress to the people, with initiatives that reached into rural communities and made the Library accessible to all Americans, in person and online.

While President Trump wants to ban books and tell Americans what to read – or not to read at all, Dr. Hayden has devoted her career to making reading and the pursuit of knowledge available to everyone.

Be like Dr. Hayden.
