I am proud of you also, everyone who works in computing knows that printers belong to the devil. (A devil, creed nonspecific)

This is fucking outrageous. I’m so sorry, lovely.
Did you watch Dirty Business? I can't believe how much water companies have gotten away with. They're putting profit before public health - it’s a scandal and the Government MUST take action! Sick of sewage? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/en...
Currently feeling too bruised from being misunderstood to use my own words here but am posting good news stories and pretty pictures at @penthewriter.bsky.social and no negativity. Everything has its place, and that’s a place for happiness and serenity. And sometimes books.
1 in 6 people in the UK can't always afford to eat. This is unacceptable – that's why I used the equalitytrust.bsky.social tool to write to my MP asking them to support the right to food.

SCENE: 4 yr old Son and I are damming a river on a beach to make a pool. Slowly other kids start joining us until I’m marshalling a group of about six.
Son goes: “mum, what now?”
This other kid turns in shock and says, “That’s your *mum*?!”
All the other parents were sitting sensibly on towels…
On hiatus for a while because I cannot people.
I’m just not sure how saying “you can do something even if it’s difficult” became a bad message to give.
It obviously is to a lot of people, so it‘s probably my autism doing “words don’t work the same for me as for others” which is a perennial problem on short social media. But it is what it is. 3/3
different people give up, and for me I want people to stop fucking funding transphobia, so the important thing is encouraging them not to do that. If you think it’s impossible for you because you find it hard and everyone is saying “it’s easy” and you know it isn’t, you won’t try. Hence… 2/
The difficulty is, this post wasn’t supposed to be about this and I accidentally hijacked it, it was supposed to be an impatient “if you haven’t given up, fuck you” post. Which, completely.
I responded to a sub-post saying it was easy, & wanted to say it wasn’t always, because different pov help 1/
What is “giving excuses“ about saying that people should do something even if it’s difficult? It’s surely much more likely to put people off doing something if everyone says “it’s easy” and they don’t find it so (as with dieting, for example).
Encourage people to give up however they feel.
Day #2 of “wow, migraines suck, don’t they?”
I’m still waiting for his economic policy in full. He probably has a substack (ugh) somewhere with it all on, but he hasn’t linked me to it. I’m curious though, because apparently Labour, Reform, and Greens are all doing it incorrectly. The Tories got us into this mess. Should we all trust Lib Dems?
The NHS has just announced what amounts to mandatory conversion therapy for trans youth, refuse to subject your kid to it and social services will take your kid off you and do it anyway.
This is a genocide, but nobody cis cares and I don't know how to fight it anymore
Whereas I’ve made the majority of my adult life friends through the internet in a way that wouldn’t have been possible for me without it, given that I’m disabled and have been mostly housebound, then bedbound. My interpersonal rships are carried on mainly online, and are far harder now to make/keep.
Yeah, it’s not the most fun. Thankfully most of my closest family are relatively supportive (all of the generation below me are, even the one whose mother is a TERF). I try to be out in other circumstances if I can because I have a certain amount of privilege, but I lack it at the doctors, sooo…
Ugh, so much this.
It’s like we help someone take a wrecking ball to someone else’s house and then yell at the victim for getting hit by debris and having nowhere to live.
“I knocked down your house and hurt you and this is YOUR FAULT.”
And the environmental damage of war as well is horrific.
Oh gods yes. I am too, & very deliberately avoiding getting diagnosed because I don’t trust doctors to treat my illnesses with as much conviction if they know I’m autistic (no, it’s not just a part of autism, I am actually chronically ill as well). (Similarly I’m not out as nonbinary at the doctor.)
Yes; I could definitely do without catching anything more, or having anyone I love catch them.
And the government complains there’s too many disabled people and then does nothing to stop us becoming disabled. Even though it would cost comparatively much less than looking after disabled folk. I just…
I think you mean “and” :)
Or I am just greedy for disability friendly and health positive policies.
(I’d still be on disability benefits as I have incurable things, but it doesn’t mean I don’t want things made better.)
Have you written a full economic policy somewhere for people to read so we can understand what the Parties should be suggesting, in your opinion?
This may be a shock to you, but Hannah Spencer is not the Green Party leader.
Then fix the fucking NHS so some of us recover, maybe! (And, indeed, the country, since reactive depression and anxiety over dealing with ~waves hand around~ all this shit would no doubt lower if it were sorted.)
Oh, and make public spaces Covid- (& other airborne diseases) safe.
Reeves needs to be reminded re: austerity:
"Insanity is doing the same thing & expecting different results."
All good ideas for anyone reading this; I hope it helps them and encourages anyone who hasn’t made the break because they’re scared even though they know they should. It is possible, and you will feel better about yourself, no matter how difficult you think it will be.
The issue isn’t if something is easy or hard, it’s whether it gets done.
Different things are hard for different people. If you ran big groups & went to things out of the house, it seems youve got energy & are good at people. Which isn’t everyone.
But they should feel the pain and do it anyway.
