秋葉原の女装・男装カフェをめぐるNUSの @michellehsho さんのご著書_Emergent Genders_(Duke UP)の出版記念研究会にコメンテーターとしてお招き頂きました。
新宿ではなく秋葉原に着目し、規範からずれた多様な性のあり方をする人々がマーケットとの交渉を主な足がかりとして生きていく様を記述した研究で、バックラッシュ後から2018年頃の日本での反ジェンダー運動の始まりまでの「LGBTブーム」を含む時期の消費と市場を媒介とする生存戦略が多面的に描かれます。
2018年以降、この戦略がどう変化したのか(しなかったのか)も考えずにはいられない、刺激的な著作でした。

「コードの99%をClaudeに丸投げしてる」と発言していたBluesky開発メンバーが、1週間前に「Claudeは既存システムの脆弱性を発見できるという記事。『AIはカスでちゅ』とか言ってるモブがどう反応するのか楽しみだ」と煽りポスト。今回の大規模障害でリプ閉じて削除（引用切断）したものの、当然のようにスクショ撮られてるという定番のオチ。
Next week I’m giving a guest lecture at the University of Manchester on “Nonbinary Identities and Communities in Japan.”
But the instructor introduced me to the students in a mass email with the wrong pronouns. I pointed it out, and there hasn’t even been a reply.
I’ve had my pronouns in my email signature the entire time, and we’ve been corresponding for weeks. The instructor also works in gender studies. I’m exhausted.
This shows how common microaggressions like this are especially in English-speaking contexts. I’ll talk about that in the lecture.
