From non-zero to 1 in 6 ๐ŸŽ‰

But I still haven't played Balatro, so I would probably vote for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (even though it's an expansion).

And today, one day later (20 years ago, that is), Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater came out.

Those were the days.

Happy 20th birthday to Half-Life 2!

Absolute juggernaut of a game. It was years ahead of it's time - especially in terms of graphical fidelity and use of physics.

Don't worry, I'm still here waiting for Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2 - Episode 3.

Looking forward to it!

I fear with time, with more users and with more bots, moderation will become near impossible, but part of me still hopes that BlueSky can be different with allowing us to set up meaningful spaces for discourse (be it feeds or whatever else)

Everyday in "Discover", I see spam accounts pop up and get a lot of reposts (although much less than on Twitter). I hope at least we can improve customizing the experience here more, so we don't end with BlueSky being yet another spam and vitriol infested hell.

I can see how the post below can read as overly enthusiastic.

Every other social media turns to poop with a for-profit algorithm, so BlueSky might end the same way.

I'm just trying to say, that you at least have more tools to counter the algorithmic hell of seeing nothing but vitriol.

You are ascribing views to me that I don't have.

I just think people should have a chance to be informed. Most people don't care about most things, but if you leave Twitter because of its hellish algorithm and come to Bluesky expecting zero algorithm, then you are coming in with false expectations.

In that case it's in your best interests to inform people about how "there is no algorithm on BlueSky" is wrong.

Harder to discover interesting things on Mastodon, that is **

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

I don't claim it's a good thing. It might very well turn sour, as I wrote below. Mastodon only has an off the beaten path tending page and outside of that it's all chronological. I'm on there too, and I like the philosophy more, but I also admit that it's harder to discover interesting things.

I don't want people coming in with false expectations. Your posts are being discovered through algorithms similar to other websites.

We can only hope that it doesn't turn into the absolute most evil sh*t being recommended everywhere. It seems like BlueSky (users and company) both do not want that.

Bluesky Social media as it should be. Find your community among millions of users, unleash your creativity, and have some fun again.

The image above is from BlueSky's .social website and says:

"Your timeline, your choice

Stay focused on your friend group, keep up-to-date on the latest news, or explore with an algorithm that learns what you like. On Bluesky, there's a feed for that."

Every day, I see a new post claiming that there is no algorithm on BlueSky.

I see these posts on "Discover" which is driven by an algorithm.

There are so many algorithms here. You can even make your own through feeds.

Follow feeds to tailor the algorithms to you.

Optimist: the cup is half full

Pessimist: the cup is half empty

The cup: mate, I'm right here, just ask how I feel

I can probably find something that can be remixed into a bizarre amalgamation. Thanks again, looks like a fantastic resource!

Public domain art resources Using public domain art in tabletop game design

if you're worried about art inclusions, Exeunt Press has a great little aggregation of public domain art (www.skeletoncodemachine.com/p/public-dom...), and Itch has lots of cool public domain art too!

that said, you don't need art to post your creations โ€“ people play the text of your work!

Thanks for the link! And very true, but it's just more enticing if there is a bit to look at as well.

I will check through the resources. Maybe I can find something cool, although my specific "Bowling on a Spaceship" theme, will probably not be easy to find, haha.

be not afraid to publish your experimental shit on itch

Thanks, probably needed this as it popped up on my feed.
Only thing holding me back at the moment is poor looking page layout and no art (as a side effect of me not being able to do art).

But maybe I'll draw something crappy.

Me yesterday: Really in a Sci-fi space exploration mood at the moment.

Steam today: HOW ABOUT ALL OF IT

Okay...

How about SepTTRPG?

Instead of a novel, you put extra work into that TTRPG, which has been on pause, or you start writing a new one.

If you are Halloween inclined, you might have your spooky game ready for October.

Currently I just ask friends, that would seem fun to play with - especially people, I imagine, would enjoy each others company as a playgroup.

Honestly, playing with "unknown/random" people would only valuable to me, if it's people I would want to do other things with as well.

Just a heads-up: The YouTube video is private.

Around Christmas, I had a fake Santa Claus hogtied in Santa's workshop.

PC's helped him out... But... Turned out it was a Redcap kinda creature. Real Santa Claus (Called the Saint of Midwinter's Eve), a true bad-ass, was looking for other Redcaps in his basement.

1 year ago 1 1 1 0

It was such sad Christmas finale, that Santa ended up giving PC's a wish each (unbeknownst to them, it was a Wish spell).

Most PCs wanted selfish things, but one of them wished the best for their friend and their wish brought her back to life (hinted at and confirmed in the following session).
