you moved? π

2pm train, I'll DM you to see if we can sneak in a coffee!
I'm in Mamdani's New York today and it is *so much* quieter than I remember living in.
Ironically it's everyone else who made it happen. First proposed by the Bloomberg admin, shaped by MTA's Allison L.C. de CerreΓ±o, built by Janno Lieber, finally shipped by Kathy Hochul.
Cities are a team sport!
Absolutely, you might want to pay for hosting private data, and self-host private data.
You might need private data hosted in a certain geography.
You might be willing to pay different rates for public & private PDS.
I wonder how awesome his deputies are...
Same here, though I would be fascinated to see how he leads whatever's next. PhilaPorts has a massive ($900M?) transformation proposal w/ realignment of Delaware Ave that could really reshape Pennsport & South Philly's relationship to the waterfront.
Huh. You can just watch @mosh.bsky.social outline an MBA-level framework (the good parts) custom tailored to building atproto apps. Even on a Monday thatβs WILD.

Thanks, Jim! I really meant it when I called this a love letter to the atproto community. I really want us to win, collectively.
If you are thinking through these questions for your atproto project, I'm happy to chat! Have really enjoyed my ~7 conversations with different teams post-conf.
That's great! Are they lower and better for visibility than a car? Unexpected and therefore make drivers slow down?
Holy crap. Do you have sources for that (not questioning you, but for building a case).
Super speeder laws, too?
I'm sorry @mcmansionhell.bsky.social for the slight on Brustalism.
That you can have this much public fun surrounded by the most boring-ass municipal offices is a testament to both good design + good culture!
Also the massive impacts in copyright, privacy, and safety that dwarf any of those big historical step changes (except maybe The Web). You could opt out of most of the other technologies. You can't opt out of AI.
Sounds interesting, but I've had too many low-battery/no-battery events to trust this in real life!
We *have* to break out of the trap of litigating safety block-by-block. Not sure how, but I suspect it has to do more with a heart & mind shift in leadership roles than any specific policy or deal.
Yes AND.
Speed cameras save lives, and so does street design. Narrower lanes, better crossing visibility, traffic calming all work together. The city needs to apply a safe streets lens to every single Street Dept project.

Bluesky posts are loading, but replies (and autocomplete) are not.
Did they solve Reply Guys for the whole internet? If so πππ
Bluesky appview is back up, but post replies aren't (@ autocomplete too)
If this is their solution to Reply Guys then ππ½ππ½ππ½
This is bare minimum for public transit, but I'm proud nonetheless. Good job @septaphilly.bsky.social
@github.com I'm seeing an issue when signed out where trying to load pages gives a 401, even if the repo is public. Just me, or is this a wider problem?
I have been radicalized by math.
I live in Philadelphia so there's no travel/lodging!
We have a little space to host a friend if needed π
Ok internet. Should I, a regular person, try to get tickets to the FIFA World Cup this summer? And how would I even do this?
It heard everyone yell Scopes! but chose to say Nope.
Quick everybody, canonize the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and bring back the Honda Fit & Mazda 5.
I'm not categorically opposed to taxing megacorps, but the city should be required to achieve >X% collection rate of existing taxes before adding any new taxes.
This means compliance/integration with standard tax software for BIRT, SIT, and NPT.
