Tom Hatten screening "The Long, Long Trailer"
Tom Hatten screening "The Long, Long Trailer" YouTube video by We Love Movie Hosts

Thinking about Tom Hatten (born Nov 14, 1926) on what would’ve been his 99th birthday. My love of #oldmovies is a direct result of watching KTLA's Family Film Festival on Saturday afternoons.

No Sleep Til... I write to you on a Saturday morning at about nine, having slept zero minutes over the previous 24 hours or so.

"The sun is out and it’s a gorgeous day here in New York City, a city that knows more about peaceable assembly than all the Rascal-riding Trump rally-goers that ever rallied." michaelianblack.substack.com/p/no-sleep-til

Los Angeles is a survivor and a leader. Despite his wishes, it will be here, just as vibrant as ever, long after he’s gone.

Star Wars Intro Scroll

Episode IV
It Was All So Stupid

Seriously, you would not believe how stupid it was. Every day, unrelentingly, just the dumbest stuff by the absolute worst people. And what made it worse was knowing that we’d brought this on ourselves.

In case you want some sweet news today.

I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.

For the entire school.

Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.

Charlie Chaplin - Final Speech from The Great Dictator
Charlie Chaplin - Final Speech from The Great Dictator YouTube video by Charlie Chaplin

Just can’t quite put my finger on what prompted me to rewatch Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator tonight. 🤔
He had some powerful things to say for his first film with dialogue. The final speech is regrettably relevant today.

If a plea for kindness and empathy makes you furious, you might be a sociopath.
