Trump still cannot agree the conditions of this unconditional surrender.

I got post-flu bacterial pneumonia about 10 years ago. Sickest I've been as an adult. Even 'normal' flu is very dangerous.

While unemployed during covid I worked on a several zooniverse projects. One was cataloguing WWI US military death certificates. A large majority were flu related.

It's the liars vs bullshitters thing.
The Iranian regime are liars - they know what the truth is but they will tell tactical and strategic lies to further their agenda. The rest of the time they may well default to the truth.
Trump is a bullshitter. The truth is irrelevant or even non-existent.

Not cutting demand - doubling efficiency. And that's not through new technology, existing electric alternatives (eg EVs vs petrol cars, heat pumps vs gas boilers) are already twice or more as efficient.

My mental health improved no end when I realised that dunking is counterproductive and an instant block is the way

I don't think trump is pitied. I don't think most Europeans (including leaders) would pity him in a mediaeval torture device. We do pity the USA more generally, excepting the ones that voted for him.

No one is saying Ukraine is fighting with drones "alone". They're force multipliers.

For quite a while on YouTube the ads I saw were almost exclusively for scams. Apart from the ethics, it makes the platform seem cheap and nasty.

It's probably in the question framing. If the question is "do you back deportation of convicted criminals who are foreign nationals?" it's pretty mainstream to agree.
Of course all the usual people will take that and run with it...

It's just another flavour of sanewashing.
The bloke's a collection of reptilian instincts in a badly fitting suit.

I'm so sorry. Such cruelty

I've always assumed that Trump simply couldn't care less about anyone but himself. Hatred is a type of 'care' & I don't think he has it in him. Hateful rhetoric has just turned out to be one of the most effective tools he's found for self-aggrandisement, which tells us something grim about humanity.

It's not much of a mitigation, that's for sure. They're just 2 varieties of evil.

Yeah I think he's surrounded by people who *do* want that (and they may well fall out over *who*), but he's just the vector as you say

One could I suppose put 'not actively trying to wipe out certain ethnicities' in the short column of Trump's redeeming features, and put 'personal charm' in Hitler's, but these are the sort of comparisons that can only get one in trouble and are best avoided.

For Hitler, racial hatred was a motivator in itself. Trump is motivated by ego alone. He's racist for sure, but I don't think it's a motivating factor. Because he is quite happy to put white supremacists in powerful positions, & has no interest in reining them in, the consequences could be as evil.

Nobody knows - and that includes the IRGC, US military and the helmsmen of the actual ships. It looks like chaos because it is.

I think the vesselfinder link qualifies as a good source - but you're quite correct in looking for further independent verification.
The situation is very fluid too - in latest reports the Irainians are claiming to have closed the strait again.

I remain sceptical that this was a straight-up fake, more that it was cynically manipulated. It's clear that the bullet didn't hit his ear, it was shrapnel from the shattered autocue. Blatant lying about that, plus writing the victim and perpetrator out of the story invites theories of fabrication.
