Iran's military more capable than Trump administration is publicly acknowledging, sources say About half of Iran's stockpile of ballistic missiles and its associated launch systems were still intact as of the start of the ceasefire in early April, officials said.

⚠️ No wonder Iran is acting like it’s in a strong position:

• About half of Iran's stockpile of ballistic missiles and launch systems are still intact.
• Roughly 60% of the naval arm of the IRGC is still in existence.
• About two-thirds of Iran's air force is believed to be still operational.

Today, Senate Republicans once again made their priorities clear: instead of working to lower costs and making everyday life more affordable for Americans, they are hellbent on providing a blank check for Trump’s lawless ICE & CBP operations.

My full statement:

There is no excuse. None.

Republicans have the votes, they have the power—and tonight they are choosing, deliberately, to do nothing for families and everything for ICE.

It’s past 3 AM and they’re jamming through $70 billion for ICE and $0 for families.

Spread the word.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Only US Votes Against Women’s Rights Document At UN Commission - Health Policy Watch President of the UN General Assembly Annalena Baerbock told the opening of CSW that the backlash against women's rights "feels as though we are forced to

For the first time in decades, consensus broke at the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The United States cast the lone “no” vote on a document aimed at improving justice systems for women and girls worldwide. Misogyny is the official policy of the US under Trump.

DOJ demanded voter files from all 50 states.

DOJ sued 31 states for refusing their demand.

My law firm intervened to protect voters in those cases.

DOJ is now 0-5.

My firm is 5-0.

Lesson: When we fight we win.

“The impulse to send them seems to stem not from a desire to seduce but to subordinate-less mating dance than dominance ritual, a way to push a woman's boundaries and see what she'll tolerate.”

Yes, $30 million per HOUR.

All because of the deadly and reckless decision making of one man.

1/ 🧵 Last week, data on fertility and birth rates for 2025 was released. As news networks started reporting on it, this clip started making the rounds on socials. Now, I think most people will agree with me that a drop in teen pregnancy is a good thing. But when we zoom out, there is a bigger trend.

Trump promised when he ran for reelection in 2024 that he would revitalize American jobs, particularly in traditional industries like manufacturing. "The White House promised a manufacturing renaissance,” wrote Fortune business editor Nick Lichtenberg. “Instead, the factory floor keeps shrinking."

Congressional Black Caucus to Support Spying Powers Used on BLM Activists - The American Prospect The Congressional Black Caucus will support the clean reauthorization of FISA Section 702, a warrantless surveillance authority that has been used to spy on African Americans.

It looks like some Democrats are preparing to help the GOP reauthorize a little-known law that lets the government sidestep the Constitution and spy on US citizens.

Zero Democrats should vote to allow the regime to gobble up mass surveillance data to punish Trump’s enemies and round up immigrants.

Disappointed, though not surprised, I began to describe various life- saving components of USAID’s global health portfolio, highlighting how we prepare for and respond to emerging pandemic threats; support the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV; and immunize millions of children from the deadliest childhood diseases. I spoke for about five minutes, focusing primarily on our infectious diseases work and hoping to keep the attention of people who seemed to have no experience—or interest—in global health.

When I finished, the room was silent, the political appointees looking at one another in what appeared to be disbelief. The silence was broken by Ken Jackson, who chuckled softly and shook his head. “Wow, there really is so much that USAID does that we never knew,” he said. “This is the story that needs to get out there.”

Joel, also smiling, chimed in next, echoing Jackson’s amazement. “I had no idea you did all this,” he said. “As a Republican, when I think of what USAID does in global health, I assumed it was just, you know, abortions.”

I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

Black women are still working twice as hard for less, new economic report finds Despite leading in education and workforce participation, Black women continue to lag in pay, wealth, and retirement security.

A new study shows that Black women outpace every other group of women in workforce participation. Yet they are still paid less & retire in poverty at twice the rate of white women. This is a system. It is long past time this country started carrying them the way they have carried us.
