I’m not scared and can be trusted with the future
it's unsolved. I'm stranded. I just blog to myself, more or less
My interest is more about the habits cultivated and carried off-platform. We learn how to use things and port those meanings onto new templates.
I would say that fedi is not necessarily a bastion; tho I do think the diff UI styles cultivate diff cultures there esp.
I'm not trying to say 'interface bad' but I am saying wresting fresh context to state a (sub-)thesis becomes habitual off-platform; if replying to someone is merely annotating, if it denies the intermediated creation of a Bohm-style 'dialogue' being—if there's "no status"—it's a subordinated tool
I heard once someone remark they at least appreciated the 'flattening' of the message board because there was no implied hierarchy of post and comments; archival discussions, whereas now it's attempting conversation through increasingly nested closures ?
I think the default mode of clearnet comm becoming 'talking past' each other might be because the primacy of the top-level post implies an annotative, not discursive relationship; it's not quite 'men of letters' epistolary style, it's context -> recontextualisation -> recontextualisation
the best critique we have is experimenting with our own lives; insofar as we are able, to put some other value first

The hero tagline kinda undersells it tho, it’s not Dropbox, it’s replicating a lot of other major website providers on novel infra. It’s quite cool.
My own taglines are nerdy tho;
As many sites as you want. Straight from your personal data store.

honestly maybe that's why i am not so much of a poaster as i once was
discoverability of social researchers the missing gap? a decade ago there were quite a few research units dedicated to trading papers. this is more of an applied lab period
still imagining social research / curation alongside rss-driven mid-form writing as core rhythm. at this point it's really more of a lifestyle choice

struck lately by how people who have known me for years weren't even aware eidoli.ca existed, like I live in the dark matter universe. wonder how to rectify that
for a while there I was pushing the one with @broskoski.bsky.social on unsuspecting victims as well because it lit up some older neurons about the same ideas, life and the decisions you make to form a structure, a practice in the everyday

been really enjoying the dialectic podcast series the past little while — the newest one with Celine Nguyen focusses a lot on questions of balance and creative output, the importance of ongoing research as habit I have been incubating as well www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_Ck...
If you serve it’s crunch time but, like, liturgically
