I have just read this (yes, I am a bit behind on my subscription!). It is a fascinating story that so many Italian emigrants would have such strong nationalist feelings for a young country that most of them barely knew. Thank you for writing it.

The IOC being spineless shamful cowards. What a surprise.

His goal threat will be difficult to replace!

*he is an OK player, but I've seen very few skilful players who are so poor in front of goal.

I have just read this article. (I am out of sync with the issues). It is fascinating, and something I had no idea had occurred. Good luck with the book. I will look out for it.

The sportswashing fatigue is real As PSG finally lay their hands on the Champions League trophy, chalk up another victory to the art of sportswashing.

This week's newsletter - the sportswashing fatigue is very real.

I have just read this article. It was fascinating. I hadn't considered the (obvious now I have read about it) natural elements in this war. Thanks.

Oldham Athletic and Southend United expect to hit the record for an English non-league football crowd of 50,000 today (47,029 for Bristol Rovers v Grimsby Town in 2015) though the clubs would have smashed through it by another 10k-15k without capacity constraints due to transport

I have just read your article in WSC about Oxford City (I am a bit behind). I connected with it a lot. Both as a Palace fan who would be happy to be back in the Championship and as someone who watches Bexhill when visiting my parents where I enjoy the random conversations and changing ends at HT.
