I'm committed to equipping Virginia's first responders with the resources they need to protect and serve our communities.  

That's why I was proud to secure $500,000 in federal funding for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to build a mobile command center.

It was great to hear from students who are leading the charge on climate action at the Student Climate Action Summit at the University of Mary Washington last month. 

In Congress, I’m focused on advancing real solutions to protect our environment and build more sustainable communities.

Yesterday, I once again voted in favor of a War Powers Resolution to stop President Trump’s war of choice against Iran. 

To this day, the administration has not provided a clear or credible justification for entering this conflict. Congress — and the American people — deserve answers.

The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country — and Black women are disproportionately impacted.

Nineteen years ago today, the Virginia Tech community endured an unimaginable tragedy when 32 lives were taken and 23 others were wounded in a mass shooting on campus. 

Today, we remember those who were lost and stand with the families and loved ones who continue to carry that grief.

Today is a tragic day for the Commonwealth.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news involving former Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax and Cerina Fairfax.

Cindy and I are holding their loved ones close in our hearts, especially their two children, as they endure this unimaginable loss.

It was great to tour Assured Health Home Care, a small business serving Woodbridge and Fredericksburg that provides home care services to Virginians. 

I heard directly from the care providers about how recent cuts to Medicare and Medicaid have impacted the accessibility of care for their patients.

For a year, I've been calling on Secretary Collins to fully staff this facility. Our veterans deserve better.

It’s always an honor to spend time with Virginia's first responders and law enforcement professionals.

On Friday, I sent my fifth letter to the VA — because they still have not explained why Virginia veterans are waiting up to 88 days for care.

As we honor their memories, we renew our commitment to stand against antisemitism and hatred in all its forms.

Corn is one of the top crops grown in Virginia, earning farmers nearly $300 million annually. 

Some farmers are choosing not to plant corn as rising fertilizer costs make it difficult to turn a profit. 

Virginia’s farmers don’t deserve the rising costs that come with this administration.

Fredericksburg’s Caroline Street has been voted the “Best Main Street in the South” by Garden & Gun magazine! 
 
I’m thrilled to see Caroline Street getting the recognition it deserves. It’s a place that perfectly captures the spirit and heart of our Fredericksburg community.
