Republicans Are Confused About the Concept of Bad Guys Some conservatives are embracing the villains in what are supposed to be cautionary tales.

witnessed both sides of the human soul at the Prince Charles yesterday (very therapeutic sign to giggle at after seeing CURE, what a doozy)

people are acting like this guy wasn't very rightfully lauded for several performances over the past couple years; let's cool it for a sec with the "there are no young movie stars" click bait

loved the menacing cackling, the sudden bursts of bloodlust boiling over when he gets the chance to fight someone, either verbally or physically. it's a more physical, moody take. does he end up as iconic as Crowe does? no, but that's more on the script than the performance.

coming out as a Mescal in Gladiator defender. people are being too quick to say he's trying too hard to be the same character as Crowe was; he's not! his performance is a much more nervy, sometimes eerily unhinged one. the speeches feel a bit detached because the character is unsure of himself!

magic players have rotted my brain to the point I say this too much. it means incredibly good, the coolest possible, etc. etc. only the best things are based.

actually kind of obsessed with this take. is his arc about an actor's actor, forced to be a studio player, dismantling the system from the inside? probably not, but I'd like it to be!

yeah this is fair, save for a few things here and there the kid's film landscape is pretty light as of late, the parents will be sweating for it

that's my suspicion! alex landed more on the "nah it is big because most people at least love Oz and spectacle" but I can't imagine general audiences are that jazzed for a two-and-a-half hour musical so in on lore that it appears off-putting to anyone not in on it already

had an interesting discussion with alex yesterday where we were trying to figure out if wicked's cultural impact is actually that big or if theatre kids who live in big cities and love fanfic are just very loud about it, our good friend The Box Office will tell all very soon

overjoyed to report this has been surprised by a line reading in the actual Roman Empire movie, in which Denzel is peerless in grand sets full of also very good actors

it's a kind of thankless role in a straightforward film, but I will always have a soft spot for INSIDE MAN. "Thank you, bank robber!" is my Roman Empire line reading
