Oof. Ha ha. I guess with I Walk Away generating from the two Split Enz demos Love & Success and Your Inspiration, Can’t Carry On was made from the resulting off cuts.

My first copy of the debut album had both this and I Walk Away on it, but it’s not on all of them. Another of Neil’s less loved children, he opted not to include it on Fangradio when he played the whole album. Personally I enjoy its inclusion.

Probably one of my favourites from when I first heard Woodface. It has great energy and I still love it, especially hearing Paul’s ‘waWaawawoo’ near the end.

Given that this is one of the most Squeeze style songs Neil has written, I wouldn’t be surprised that it generated an urban myth. I don’t recall it personally.

Recently had my results back; which showed that I am 1% Turkish. This is despite a fairly comprehensive family tree backed by the 100% Northern European ancestry of my siblings. Also, it would seem that I am more Turkish than my niece who is half Turkish.

Absolutely in its right place, did not deserve to be on a studio album. However, completely forgiven as its Hessie. I’m amazed they even recorded it, but I’m glad they did. Nice slice of joy on the wonderful Afterglow.
