Trump seems to be going with the strategy of “Iran’s not closing the Strait of Hormuz. I’M closing the Strait of Hormuz!”
It remains painfully obvious how utterly desperate and lost Trump is as he flails wildly about, unable to control the absolute catastrophe he created for no reason whatsoever.
The IOC has announced a trans and intersex athlete ban requiring an invasive SRY genetic test for female athletes.
In the 20+ years trans women were eligible, only one ever competed and none ever medaled. This is solving for a problem that doesn't exist.

If America still had the rule of law, this would be the easiest prosecution ever, but we all know absolutely nothing will happen.
More than 70% of American adults are very or somewhat concerned about exposure to toxic chemicals in their food and drinking water. 5 out of 6 adults in the United States say they wanted the federal government and industry to do more to protect them.

"Ubreu had been detained after federal agents rammed into his car and broke his car window...he had been delivering groceries for mutual aid work through his church when he was detained. She said he’s a legal immigrant."
AND they won't give him meds that he'd likely die without. Heinous & cruel.
A Minneapolis City Council committee delayed action Tuesday on renewing liquor licenses for two Minneapolis hotels that have housed federal immigration officers.
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.
If you only read the opinion journalism in elite media over the last decade, you would have been convinced that wokeness, and not fascism, were the greatest threats to American society. Now some of those authors are retconning by trying to relabel fascism as "the woke right."
"Alex Kleytman, an 87-year-old Ukrainian Holocaust survivor, was celebrating Hanukkah with his wife of 57 years, Larisa Kleytman, also a Holocaust survivor, when the attack began. He was killed while shielding Larisa from the bullets with his own body."

When Republicans inevitably blame mental health and not the guns for yet another school shooting - kindly remind them that 205 of them voted AGAINST a bill to expand school-based mental health services.

Just a great album to listen to while experiencing the decline of American empire

I said in January that this would be my top song of the year and I LOVE being right
Consider the experiences of the last few years. The racial justice movement that peaked in 2020 ended in disappointment and backlash. The Gaza protests provoked intense conflict without delivering clear political or policy victories for their organizers. Maybe most important, Mr. Trump himself is back in the White House, suggesting a futility to opposition and activism among young people who have only ever known him as the central figure in our politics. He first took the oath of office when today's first-year college students were in elementary school. The electoral choices offered to young people are not much better. Given the realities of our dysfunctional two-party system, the only alternative to a Trump-dominated G.O.P. is the Democratic Party, which is dominated by a decadent gerontocracy whose elites were more likely to attend a wedding in the Hamptons than a No Kings protest on the same day.
@brendannyhan.bsky.social is right: young people are reluctant to come to the defense of institutions that have excluded them, ignored them, and crushed their movements

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.
We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

I think maybe people want to vote for good people?
Normal people are just sick to fucking death of the cruelty and meanness
“What keeps us going, ultimately, is our love for each other, and our refusal to bow our heads, to accept the verdict, however all-powerful it seems. It’s what ordinary people have to do. You have to love each other. You have to defend each other. You have to fight.” —Mike Davis
Mamdani has won more votes than the entire population of any of the 5 smallest states.
"What we see, I think, are a bunch of rich guys who have been comically out of touch with normal people for many decades, and more recently have blowtorched their brains into a smoking pile of ash on Elon Musk’s Twitter/X and in various group chats." prospect.org/2025/11/04/a...
all that money rich people are spending trying to find the progressive joe rogan and it's just zohran mamdani running for office
i love Us demanding that power take care of Us
There are more of us than there are of them.
As the Trump administration continues its crackdown, millions across the US are expected to hit the streets for this weekend's "No Kings" protest. If that includes you or your loved ones, here's a 🧵 of guides to follow to protest safely in the age of surveillance.
