Threatening to wipe out an entire civilization is morally bankrupt and a major war crime, risking the lives of innocent civilians - including children.
He seems detached from reality. I don’t know who (if anyone) can get through to him. Congress needs to step in and stop him.
REI usually creates and offers a form for people to write. They didn't on this issue, and the email they sent was weak. They need to do better.

I can't even process Trump's threats juxtapositioned against some of the most beautiful photos of Earth taken in my lifetime. He is insane. They need to remove him.
A reminder that E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G he does is a distraction from the sex crimes he, if there is justice, will be imprisoned for.

Today is moon approach day for the Artemis mission. I'm excited. How about you?
Learn how navigation really works in the Boundary Waters and why magnetic anomalies rarely affect your compass. Tips on deviation, declination, and staying accurate.
And here, @bryanhansel.com thinks aloud about his 2027 Workshop lineup:

Meanwhile, on Artemis II:
Christina: That's no moon! It's a space station.
Reid: It's too big to be a space station.
Jeremy: I have a very bad feeling about this.
Reid: Yeah, I think your right. Full reverse! Victor, lock in the auxiliary power.
This was a really cool Lego build
I forgot to post Olaf Thorvaldsen April 1, 1926 column. It's hard to call these weather reports because they are more about the happenings of Grand Marais.
People on the Internet actually believing that Minnesota is going to charge an extra per-seat fee for registering canoes in order to make up for lost gas tax revenue from not having outboard motors is peak April 1, 2026.
Learn how carving your own wooden camping spoon builds skills, self-reliance, and a lighter, custom tool for the outdoors.

On Saturday, I had an opportunity to photograph the No Kings rally. I wanted to photograph people and their signs. I ended up photographing about 140-150 different people with their signs. Here are a few. More on my Facebook page.
I have Weather From the Hill ready to go through April 15th. That's 3 more of Olaf Thorvaldsen's 1926 columns in the Cook County News Herald. I need to get to the library to look over more microfiche film to get more of them ready. This is more work than I thought it would be.

For 1926, official Grand Marais weatherman Olaf Thorvaldsen is uncannily accurate. I've looked over his April columns, and he doesn't miss, including predicting the day and amount of each snow event in April of 1926. I'm not sure how they did it back then but amazing!

In the March 25, 1926 Weather from the Hill, Olaf Thorvaldsen writes about beavers, timber, immigration, and the weather.
It would be a good time to help the helium mine in northern Minnesota get up and running faster.
Camera great doesn't count. 🙂 Plus, camera gear. I bring more canoeing, but bikepacking and backpacking I usually bring just the Nikon Zf and 28mm and 40mm or just the 24-120. Canoeing the Z8 comes with me plus the 14-30 and 24-120.
I may add it. I'm on the road right now, so won't be able to look at it until later this week or next week.

A personal essay about what experiencing solitude under the winter night sky means, and how it feels being the one that interrupts another’s solitude.

I'm trying to get this straight:
1. Trump bombs Iran
2. Oil prices go up
3. Russia provides targeting info to Iran to use to attack the US
4. Trump ends oil sanctions against Russia. Russia banks $$$.
5. Trump allows the US to buy Iranian oil
6. Oil money gets used to attack US
WTF!?!
Without a press release or public announcement, the U.S. Forest Service quietly updated its filming and photography rules, which are now in effect now, bringing its policies in line with the EXPLORE Act, but leaving a critical question unanswered.
