We were pleased to share evidence with the Independent Expert Panel’s new review of palliative and end of life care. The report highlights gaps in commissioning, workforce pressures, and persistent inequalities. We’ll continue championing the voices of those we support.

Very pleased with this! 😊
Thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing 😊 And yes, absolutely, and our colleagues!
I’ve been writing about neurodivergence in end-of-life care and advance planning and hearing from people who want to do better but don’t know where to start.
This work means a lot to me. I’ve gathered it all in one place - my new site is live: www.deathwireddifferently.co.uk

A black square with orange underline which reads: Your autistic friends are watching your reaction to the 'autism cure' talk in the news Not only to see whether you believe the lies, but to see whether you believe autism is something to be 'removed' rather than who we are To know whether you prop up the language of eugenics which targets us Now is the time to be a loud ally
I am very new to it all myself, but have been finding the Visual Snow Initiative and VSS groups on Facebook very helpful/normalising
Coloured screen filters, coloured lense glasses, minimising stress wherever possible, work on acceptance (including through therapy), connecting with others with VSS have all been helpful
RFK Jr. is not a vaccine skeptic. He's a vaccine denier whose anti-science extremist views and actions are destroying one of humanity's greatest scientific achievements. He's going to kill a lot of people, and those deaths are on the 52 Republican senators who confirmed him and those enabling him.
Good to see VSS being covered, this is very similar to my own experience

Anytime! Let me know if you want to arrange 😊
Special interest grief is a disenfranchised grief. When a special interest becomes inaccessible it can feel like losing part of yourself. For many neurodivergent ppl these aren’t hobbies they’re ways of making sense of the world, regulating overwhelm, finding joy, expressing identity. It's valid & real.
I’ve been screaming from the rooftops that life under authoritarianism feels mostly normal most of the time for most people. Rights get stripped away and minorities get targeted and most people keep going to work and dealing with the minutia of life. It’s hard to know how to fight or when to flee.
Thank you! And of course 😊

My brilliant EoL doula colleague Rachel Hawthorn is hosting an online screening of The Luddenden Shroud – a 30-min film about a hand-felted shroud, nature, grief, and place. Followed by a Q&A. All welcome. Book here:

Sharing this on the eve of tomorrow's vote.
I am a palliative care doctor who is not opposed to AD. But enshrining in law a state-funded right to die, while not enshrine a similar right to the palliative care that might make life worth living, is so very wrong.

Oh thank you very much! This is beautiful, such a human inscription. I recognise the name too. Is this in York? 🙂
So important to see RCP make this statement about the preventable deaths and diseases poor air quality causes. We know it worsens infections , allergy, asthma and COPD severity too 🧪

RFK Jr. has just removed every member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
These members review vaccine data and make approval recommendations. This is completely horrifying and will likely delay vaccine approvals.
RFK Jr. must be removed from office IMMEDIATELY.
Save the date!

A faceless figure of a person surrounded by ribbons of different colours and white text showing aspects of work, and with like coloured sections forming two semi-circles around the person showing goals for work. Top title banner reads " Key intersecting tensions for end of life doulas " Bottom centre circle reads " EOLDs "
Opportunities for self-awareness, reflection and honest evaluation are always important - this goes for end of life doulas, too. How we work with opportunities and realities in the workplace, in tandem with our highest goals for work are shown in this graphic.
