Graphic designers may remember these. I used one as a secondary scratch disk for Photoshop. Things were... slow.

I agree. I've been a daily Mac user for 28 years, and this was the best version of Mac OS ever devised, if you ask me. #macos

Beautiful. For the last decade, it's been Charlotte Sometimes, Burn, Just Like Heaven, Friday I'm in Love, and How Not to Drown (I know it's technically not The Cure).

Hey, thanks, I'm not hurting today – just have to avoid about 90% of The Cure's songs 😂 ... but that's a compliment to Saint Bob – he was an absolute genius, and I still have a few brilliant tracks of his that I can listen to to my heart's content.

May I ask what your favourite Cure tracks are?

Yes, some are too painful for me to listen to today. I still don't know what Cockatoos was about, but for me, much of the album was a soundtrack for unrequited love and my accompanying despair and anger. Cockatoos and Just Like Heaven are my favourites today, and Kiss Me is in my top 3 Cure albums.

Ha, this is me. I don't allow politics in my newsfeed, but I still go directly to international news sites anyway. I refuse to follow local news, though.

I'll never forget buying the vinyl. I didn't have record player at the time so I had to ask someone to tape it for me. A lot of intense emotional memories of this time.

I miss the good old days of @theonion.com when it satirised a reality that was still distinguishable from satire.

I've been worried about the future of democracy ever since AI art generators like Midjourney could create near-photorealistic images, followed by video generators. Creating disinformation is dead easy.

Yes, and great music too (if you're into industrial/hard techno with psytrance influences)

#Dear80sme, I'm sending you an omen from 2026: The leader of a "developed" country will say the things below ... in public. Stay in the 20th century.

I have to say, it feels good to see more countries considering banning social media for young teens and kids, and even better to see Meta and Google lose that court case. Feels like the chickens are coming home to roost for Big Tech predators. 🤞
