Luxon is not really very good at this. Neither is Carlos as this is not the win he thinks it is. 🤦🏼‍♂️ #nzpol

The only way through is to invest in green energy. The UK has saved billions with their roll out of wind and solar energy projects.
Meanwhile here in Aotearoa, our coalition of chaos want to increase our dependence on the oil & gas companies. They are anti-NZ. Vote them out #nzpol

One of my favourite annual traditions - flowering of the cross at church. A wonderful reminder during these dark times that there is joy and there is lightness that emerges.
May you be encouraged that while there are scary, anxiety-inducing times afoot, hope & lightness can overcome.

Almost 8000 construction, manufacturing jobs gone BNZ chief economist Mike Jones agreed the outlook was uncertain, with the continued conflict in the Middle East.

So much for Luxon & Willis’ “green shoots”. Looks like they were seeing weeds and getting excited. #nzpol #Nationalnotfittogovern

As a reminder of the “non-crisis” we are in, this is how much fuel we have left. Less than 40 days. Our most critical is diesel, which powers our economy. That is down to 24 days worth. There is some on the water heading our way, scheduled to arrive in 9 days time with a 80% chance of arriving.

Hazmat unit scrambled as fuel-filled cable severed in early-morning raid A fuel pipeline was flowing on Great South Rd, Manurewa on Monday.

Sounds like it was a fuel-cooled power cable but the above quote highlights that for some, and despite what the government claims, we are in a fuel crisis. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3609...

UPDATE: "I know things are tight in the fuel industry at the moment, and people are paying a lot of money, but it’s not worth your life – so don’t do it," - Counties Manukau District Assistant Commander Chris Delfos.

Emergency services respond to ‘sabotaged’ pipeline at Auckland gas station A fuel pipeline was flowing on Great South Rd, Manurewa on Monday.

No crisis this government says. Carry on as normal they say. No need for mandates or restrictions.
Yet, the places where our refined fuel comes from have restrictions & now this. We are in a fuel crisis & this government have their heads in the sand. #nzpol

Julian Batchelor ‘wholly unsuccessful’ in defamation claim against TVNZ Julian Batchelor’s defamation claim against TVNZ has been thrown out.

The only decision that should have been made has been the one the judge has decided on. This is great news.

@andymitten.bsky.social is it time we put Mbeumo on the bench & started Sesko? Mbeumo has looked flat the last few games & we have needed a target man up front. #manutd #talkofthedevila

'Cultural vandalism': Whangārei residents angry over Sunday library closure Sunday visits averaged 380 people, compared with 690 on Saturdays.

This is what happens when you pander to the noisy "stick to the basics" group. Their idea of basics is often roads, rubbish & pipes. But local government is about a lot more than just that. #nzpol

lol. We all know Luxon is Muldoon’s “love child” but this is taking things to new extremes. Before we know it Luxon will get on a bender and drunkenly call a snap election. #nzpol

Car-less days? Government mulls Muldoon-era mandates as prices soar Legislation under review gives ministers the power to force car-less days or limit the sale of petrol.

This coalition is so inept & bereft of ideas or imagination that they are considering resurrecting a failed idea from the 1970s. 🤡 #nzpol #Nationalnotfittogovern www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360...

Many of us living in Auckland know we can’t keep on with 1950s thinking. We have been calling for a more compact city with reliable mass public transport across the region. It is frustrating that politicians (particularly right leaning ones in central & local government) don’t listen. #nzpol

Coalition Disinformation & the COVID-19 second report Addressing the disinformation being spread by National, ACT and New Zealand First.

Given that the newly released Covid Inquiry phase 2 advised that the use of urgency should be done with extreme caution, I wonder what that means for this coalition’s liberal use of it.

Seeing the National Party MPs (& their supporters) all over socials trying to use the 2 Royal Commission inquiry findings to demonise Chris Hipkins is both parts hilarious & sad. National are really looking desperate at the moment. #nzpol

The pathetic way the Chiefs & NZ Rugby, including Rennie, handled the groping and demeaning of Scarlette led me to stop watching rugby. As our national sport, I wanted rugby to do better. But they failed. I fear that nothing has changed & nothing will with Rennie in charge. END

I hope Dave Rennie has learnt that this kind of toxic masculine behaviour is never ok & that as a coach, the blame falls at his door. But I have my doubts. So that is who is now the head of our national rugby team. 10/
