The World Baseball Classic is a great reminder that baseball is nothing without immigrants.

So the league’s strategy was to enter into a contest of physical will against some of the most competitive, elite athletes in the world?

It seems that the league’s strategy was to drag their feet all year and hope the players would fight amongst themselves, and then exhaust them with these marathon sessions at the last minute. I hope the players hold strong and get what they deserve.

If the league isn’t being financially transparent, I don’t understand why the focus is on the players? It’s a terrible story for the players to have at this stage.

That was awesome! I got to about the 1200s and couldn't make much of it anymore.

This is why I feel like we can never really understand what it felt like to live in a previous time. There are so many of those storylines that don’t get preserved in the collective memory.

It’s admirable to see such a young person to stand her ground and demand her rightful place in the spotlight, even in the face of hate and double standards. I’ve learned a lot about WBB ever since and I especially love what Phee and Stevie have created with #Unrivaled.

When LSU won the championship and Reese called out First Lady Biden for inviting both the winners and losers to the White House *that* was when I really began to pay attention. I’ve wanted her to succeed ever since.

When the media started hyping CC’s competitive nature and accomplishments, I wondered what was going on, but I still didn’t watch.

Since I teach AP Gov, I had been aware of how much more politically active WNBA players are. I followed the news when the Atlanta Dream supported Raphael Warnock’s campaign and I followed the lobbying to bring BG home. But I never watched a game.

I remember watching some of the first WNBA game in the 90s. I never watched any WBB again until two years ago. Angel Reese absolutely brought me to the WNBA as a regular viewer.
