My lit mag starter pack now doubles as a list. It also now includes several literary magazines and journals bravely working amidst the occupation of Minneapolis:

Looking forward to placing an order. Would you happen to have local pickup options, by chance?

I feel like a thematic chapbook may take even more time, if not careful guidance, to explore the theme with enough multidimensionality to comprise that many poems—particularly if your students are not already experienced and skilled poets.

For reference, undergraduates in college creative writing courses might typically produce the bare minimum to fill a chapbook (about 15 poems) over the course of a semester, at roughly one poem (and revision) per week—with additional time for sequencing, design, and final revisions.

This was a brilliant, multi-dimensional, and provocative (in all of the best ways) episode. Thank you for your contributions.

Thank you for the kind word. I have happily updated the starter pack to include you.

As a small offering, I have compiled a starter pack of 132 literary magazines currently on Bluesky. To synthesize Hannah Arendt, may their storytelling reveal meaning without fascistic definition and may their poetic thinking resist tyranny and shelter your core from the evil of totalitarianism.

This was a brilliant episode. Thank you for exposing me to games, as well as systems of game design, that I had never heard of nor considered—and seeing how leftist or anti-capitalist thought can liberate the boundaries of "game." I also enjoyed the surprise utterance of "dasein." Cheers!
