March 18, 2026 Story Hour: Renan Bernardo and Amal Singh YouTube video by Story Hour

This Story Hour, Renan Bernardo took us to Brazil and Amal Singh took us to India. More than that, they took us through history and myth, all the way into the human soul. Lyrical, lovely, haunting. You can still watch! @renanbernardo.com @amalsingh.bsky.social youtu.be/ZwD-TPPlDXI

Color photo of author Renan Bernardo, a man with short brown hair and matching beard and mustache. Rectangular glasses sit before his brown eyes. He wears a button-up in wide blue and white stripes. He poses in front of a wall covered with dinner plates; golden light washes over him from behind. He looks straight into the camera with a serious expression.

Color photo of author Amal Singh, a brown-skinned man with very dark hair worn short. He rests his face on his clasped hands, concealing his mouth; a visible cheek shows a hint of stubble. He wears aviator-style glasses, a soft-red short-sleeved knit shirt, and an orange cloth bracelet. He sits at an outdoor table with a city street and a mountain behind him. A cup of milky coffee or tea sits on a red tablecloth before him. He looks past the camera, into the distance.

Hi! With Diabolical Plots opening in mere hours we would like to point out that we have updated the AI Policy section in our guideline to add commitments that Diabolical Plots will not use generative AI for anything including selection, editing, correspondence, artwork, etc.

Thanks to David for calling this out. I was tentatively hopeful when Must Read bought up the big SFF print magazines, but I won't be submitting my work to a machine built to exploit writers who don't have the toolset to spot the problems in contracts like these.

Strange Horizons 2026 A free weekly speculative fiction magazine with a global perspective.

The Strange Horizons fund-drive has been a little stuck between the 14K and 15K mark for the last week; and with 11 days to go, we could use some help — whether it is through donations or amplification. And a lot of excellent rewards still available!
