With Chime and Serpent’s Path ‘98 playing in theaters, I had a brief but very cool chat with the great Kiyoshi Kurosawa

Kenji Tanigaki’s The Furious is astonishing. I’ve been desperate for a film that moves fight choreo forward and I can honestly say, I’ve never seen anything like the way bodies move, collide and stack atop one another in this. It’s like Kensuke Sonomura unearthed a new element.

If you're in LA tonight, my girlfriend Aimee's wonderful film Cannibal Mukbang is playing tonight at Gardena Cinema at 7:30! She'll be in attendance for a Q&A after. Go out and support REAL and TRUE indie cinema!🫵😤

If you can’t make it, give it a watch on Tubi. It’s a great time!

This might sound silly but I've had a few friends over the years who loved NIN as much me who are no longer with us and I truly wish they could be here to experience this. I know it would blow their minds and I just hope they're hearing it somewhere.
Kinda just astonished that Nine Inch Noize even exists, immediately among the very best of Trent's career. The Peel It Back Tour felt like he was more alive than ever, and there are little teases of NINoize in that show, but man, this is something else. Feels like a miracle.
Ahead of her stunning debut feature, Blue Heron (the year’s best film), hitting theaters, I had a wonderful conversation with Sophy Romvari all about it.

Can’t lie, Sophy calling back to this full circle moment really meant a lot to me. She’s one of the greats.

God I love Ben Wheatley. None of this winking at the audience bullshit that infects a lot of contemporary genre filmmaking; just pure unbridled sincerity, no matter how silly the material.
Had a great time sitting down with the wonderful and insightful Bob Odenkirk to talk about his new film Normal, Jackie Chan, reflecting on his heart attack five years later, and why sketch comedy and fight choreography aren't all that different

In addition to Bob, I also had a very fun conversation with director Ben Wheatley, a guy I've always dug. You can read that here:

This is my first custom from my main guy, Kohdai who works at Lefty's in Brooklyn. I love his style. These are the other ones he's done on me

Making my debut at Filmmaker Mag, I had a great, in depth chat with director Daniel Goldhaber and writer Isa Mazzei on their excellent new film, Faces of Death. One of my favorites of the year, check it out below!

As Killers of the Flower Moon enters the Criterion Collection, I had another wonderful conversation with Lily Gladstone, this time about the film, compartmentalizing joy with tragedy and cinema as oral tradition. One of my favorite people to talk to:

The wonderful and talented @meltyfeelings.bsky.social is directing a very cool and strange new short and she and her crew could use YOUR help 🫵 in getting it funded.
