A Review of the Blue Jays in 'Angels in the Outfield' With the Blue Jays in Anaheim to take on the Angels, Jays Centre looks back at a classic "series" from the mid-90s.

Seems like a good time to share this again:

Inevitable is right. This season they locked it up, but relegation has been on the horizon for 2-3 seasons now. I maintain that if the pandemic never happened, Nuno would've stayed and Wolves would've stayed stable longer.

Maybe that's nostalgia at this point.

On to the Championship.

The upside is I don't have to update my profile for at least a year...

Ocean's 11 is 116 minutes. In the first 7 minutes George Clooney is just meeting Topher Grace.

The Blue Jays are the first team since at least 1900 to have a pitcher strike out more than 10 batters in each of their first two games of a season

Jays had 9 walk off wins last season. Well ahead of the pace here.

The Blue Jays and the First Homer of the Season Spring training home runs are nice, but the first one of the regular season is always something special.

Kirk joins an elite list.

Game 2 of the season and I've already burned dinner, distracted by an extended inning.

At the same time I feel like I can never be hurt again. Maybe that will be the legacy of the '25 team.

It was the shortest Jays offseason in decades, but felt like one of the longest. I'm ready to dive back in and get hurt again.

Folks, we made it.

If you see Blake Snell let him know I'm cheering against him. I don't have a clever pun or anything, I just wish ill upon him.

I proposed a statue for the concourse, which might be a pipe dream, but I think the Level of Excellence is a lock.

I did miss it last week, so thanks for resharing!

Yeah, it's the Yankees and the whole AL East ahead of the Dodgers for me.

I should say "in Toronto *as a Blue Jay*"
He's homered at the Rogers Centre as an away player.

Gio is one of my go-to immaculate grid Blue Jays. This was his only homer in Toronto.

Thanks! Schneider’s assertion today that Ponce is "definitely" a starter *definitely* threw some doubt my way.

Never even nominated!

Schneider does so many things that drive me crazy (the bunting! oh god, the bunting) and he still got absolutely robbed here.

Holy shit! Let's run it back! I was holding on to hope since we hadn't heard opt-out news yet, but figured *if* this announcement came it would be with an extension. (and maybe that will still happen) but wow. Let's go Bieber!

That's my thought too. If Barger wasn't caught for the final out at 2B the night before would they have been less precious with IKF there.

And in that pause between pitch and contact - longer than logic, shorter than hope - we remembered why baseball existed long before we judged a sport's value by viral moments and betting apps. It is the romance of failure. The mortal beauty of trying and missing seven times out of 10 and still being considered great. It is the only sport where patience is a weapon, and panic the surest death. You cannot simply run out the clock in baseball; you must face it, pitch by terrifying pitch, until it finally releases you.

Did not expect one of the best paragraphs I’d read about baseball would come from an Irish newspaper

Haha amazing! I would've sworn it was a late-April/early-May game. I guess I've been thinking about it even longer. As true in March as it is in November.

I've thought about this all season. I don't even remember the context. Just a perfect encapsulation of baseball.

Wolves just sacked their manager this morning, are dead last in the league - the only team without a win and look like a relegation lock. Putting a lot of pressure on the Wings to do something special in their 100th season.
