Mine too!! Since I was about 8 years old. Turned my grandson on to it a few months ago.
My favourite Movie of all time.
A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH (1946)
Powell & Pressburger’s masterpiece.
It is so exasperating to see the US media willfully make the same misframings around Trump as always: Unprovoked he attacks someone verbally and suddenly there is a “feud,” a “dispute,” a “battle” — that he has to win.
Colleagues: Come on. Be accurate about how one-sided these maneuvers are.
About to watch now.
Those Winter Sundays By Robert Hayden Sundays too my father got up early and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold, then with cracked hands that ached from labor in the weekday weather made banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him. I’d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking. When the rooms were warm, he’d call, and slowly I would rise and dress, fearing the chronic angers of that house, Speaking indifferently to him, who had driven out the cold and polished my good shoes as well. What did I know, what did I know of love’s austere and lonely offices?
One reason I love this poem so much is because for all the beauty of the stoicism he describes, Hayden makes a point of including a reference to "fearing the chronic angers of that house."
So if we're bringing back selfless sacrifice as a model of masculinity, let's try to leave out chronic angers.
Happy Saturday!

Indeed!!
A line of clouds in a blue sky that look like 6 ocean waves in a row.
Ana Dillion in Florence, Oregon, captured these wave #clouds last Saturday off the Oregon coast. Wave clouds - or #KelvinHelmholtz clouds - look like ocean #waves in the sky. 🌊☁️

Morning. ☕️
I’m watching “Nuremberg” and Netflix warns there is “sensitive content” about “smoking.” The fact that this refers to cigarettes, not people, seems so oddly prissy and twisted to me.
Duh!!!
Media & police commonly report that “speed wasn’t a factor in a crash.” What they mean is the driver wasn’t technically breaking the speed limit, or at least not too much.
But speed is ALWAYS a factor, in how much distance is needed to stop, how well crash victims can be seen, and whether they die.
🤣🤣
Love that hat!
I can see that, all I've had is tea.
