Have just finished book 3 and it is definitely getting better as it goes on (and much more like King that I know) but I didn't find Gunslinger hard going and didn't mind being thrown into a world without really knowing what was happening. Roland is just magnetic
Dear Neil, this inspired me to read the Gunslinger, which I'd heard might be hard going but I chewed through it rapidly and am now a third of the way through book 2 which is blowing my mind. Thank you once more for introducing me to something amazing

NEW EPISODE
@lucyrosecreates.bsky.social joins me for a chewy, meaty discussion about THE LAMB.
We cover cannibalism, mothers and monsters, and the scary wilds of the English North.
All podcast platforms.
This was an amazing episode and made me buy the book immediately. Lucy was so engaging and joyful and Neil as ever brings the best out of his guests
My terrier, Ted, in the snow. He is staring at a ball like the most furious pokemon of all time.
I keep forgetting to remind people that you can pre-order my debut novella, GOOD BOY from @wildhuntbooks.bsky.social
www.wildhuntbooks.co.uk/books/p/good...
It's a wholesome tale of terrible things happening to children – and the brave dog who stands in the way
Based on this little dude of mine
I'm sure there's some sort of Brindle/ Bundle joke out there but I can't quite make it work

God, I had so many dog custody queries when I used to be a divorce lawyer, but this is the first fact finding I've seen about a dognapping
When two of my favourite podcasters get together, you have one of my favourite episodes of the year.
Cat sniffs orange
Cat pats orange
Cat watches orange hitting the floor.
Early start for the cat. Things need urgently Pushing Off.
Thank you for this Molly, you've given me lots of new authors and books to check out, and your write-ups were really engaging
I talk here about some television I've loved this year that may be new to you and may be up your street... suesspiciousminds.com/2024/12/04/n...
The final update to this year's best science fiction books is live! It came up a bit out of order (it's by publication, not ranked) for me, but all the same, the fall additions are at the bottom:
🤠 AOTW Gillian Welch & David Rawlings 🤠
A beautifully weaved web of intricately finger-picked guitar, threaded through with the sort of delicate and deeply affecting vocal poetics that we've come to expect from this remarkably talented pairing. Masterful stuff!

suesspiciousminds.com/2024/11/25/v... really humane and thoughtful judgment from Peel J and answering a question I've thankfully never had to think about

Thank you for that, a really helpful starting point for my rebuild here
First post here. Not looking for an echo chamber but a place to debate and chat that can do it without the temperature going skyhigh instantly. Also hopefully no unblockable Temu ads
It is! I need to work out how to find people that I want to follow
