Another GamePassUltimate price hike.. a bit much isn't it? I've been a XboxLive subscriber since BETA - starting at £39 a year.
If we followed inflation it would be around £72 a year.
Instead it's £30 per month / £360 a year - yikes! No thanks!

Just snagged this beauty — a Tandy Chess Game (Model 60-2160) from 1980 — for a few quid.
Why do I keep collecting these old electronic chess sets? Maybe it's the look?
Next move: find out if it'll destroy me with its cold 1980s logic.

Last year, I rediscovered in the attic my incomplete 1990/91 MLB #Topps collection, which I started after a brief visit to the U.S.
Now, some 34 years later, Ive finally completed the 1990 set and #Pirates set for good measure.
Next up - finishing 1991 and starting others!?😅

All the Colours of Cymru Collection has now been printed and will be with you very soon… if you preordered 😉🏴📦🚚

The mystery computer from yesterday was… **drumroll**
A Micro-Professor II (82/83)
“A what?”
Yeah, I’d never heard of it either. There's not a great deal online about it. A few games came with it too, which should be interesting if I can get it going!

It's not an MSX.
It's not a TI computer. It's not a UK or US made computer either (although it was sold in those countries and elsewhere!)
Close-up image of an 'unidentified' circuit board. Standing amongst the computer chips, with a cup of tea, is a 1:76 scale figure in a fluorescent orange jacket and hard hat.
I picked up a rare (for the UK), early 80's microcomputer today.
Hats off to anyone who can guess what it is by the picture. There should be enough clues 😉.
I have no idea if it works. I need to do some research before powering the thing up!

Closeup, digitally manipulated image of a 5.5" figure of "Vashta Nerada" inhabiting the suit of a dead space explorer. A 'character' from the UK TV series "Dr Who", featured in Season 4, Episode 8 - "Silence in the Library" (2008).
I'm not a modern Dr Who fan... but I love this guy! Classic 'spooky' spaceman.
((A 5.5" figure I picked up recently.))

Like many others, after recent events, I'm going to try just that little bit harder to get off that 'other' social media bot site.
I'll post my weird, very nice (for some 👍), geeky stuff here instead. Hope that's OK! 😁
Thanks for all the Linux distro suggestions in my previous post.
Currently up and running with Mint. Few niggles with capture cards, but apart from that all good. 😀
Thanks for the recommendations. I will definitely take a look at Proxmox as I do forsee myself hopping between distros further down the line.
Thanks for the recommendation. Tis a toss up between Ubuntu and Mint at the mo.
After years of dithering, I'll be switching to Linux this weekend. Win11's new spyware shenanigans is off-putting! I just need to find the right distro... 🤔
I've been generously gifted another vintage laptop for the collection. This time a rare Olivetti M211V (1991) laptop.
Boasting an Intel 80C286 processor, running at a dizzying 16MHz, 1MB of RAM a 20MB HDD and a 10.5" VGA screen.
Two vintage arcade cabinets, 'Super Invaders' and 'Space World', both in very poor condition.
A project too far? Two (very probably dead) arcade cabinets, on their last chipboard rotten legs!
Saved from going to landfill.

Aside from the corrosion, the switches seem 'OK' (so far!). I'll do my best to avoid breaking them!!!

Still can't believe this wrecked Atari 800XL works. Going to have to clean it up now...

Finally, I have my hands on the two Atari I bought two weeks ago. Both are in a helluva state. But amazingly they still work! #atari2600 #atari #cx2600 #lightsixer #atariprojects

I'm going to be restoring two very SAD #Atari's in the near future. I'll be amazed if either are still working. It'll be fun finding out.

I received this superb repro Acorn Electron box from
consoleboxes this week - and love it!
Just waiting for a poly insert to arrive in the post and my little Electron will have a nice new home.

First post.
Finally got an invite for this... Hopefully, it'll stick and I can finally migrate away from the dead blue bird site.
