Once they've moulted there is a good chance of flower. Time will tell.
(a reminder of what we are looking forward to)

Rule of thumb - no water between October-ish and May-ish. Water once moulting is complete, then sparingly through summer. You get to recognise how your plants are fairing.

Left hand one that is grey-white with dark grey 'deltas' looks to be Lithops lesliei subsp. lesliei var. venteri

Identification can be a challenge, but I'll give it a go once they've finished moulting. They can be very variable.

That is the drawback of having a mixed grouping. I'd leave them all until the last one has shrivelled unless one of them is going really slowly and the others look like they're suffering. There is no hurry when it comes to watering!

And here is the same pot of Lithops dorotheae 26 days later. Moulting has completed for most of the little plants, and the first post-moult watering has taken place.

Beautiful selection of species. I'm sure you know, but don't water them until the old leaf skins have become dry. I look forward to updates on these!

Hmmm ... difficult isn't it.
I'm still drawn to dilatus, but with a lot of reservation. Victor Kolyada would know but he's not on this platform.

I think I'd plump for dilatus.

If you look at the rear end of the gaster and focus on the punctation, this might help.

Nobody said this would be easy ... and those aren't even the little ones! It takes courage to head into this realm.

Do you ever wonder why chalcid wasps aren't commonly studied?

A kitchen visitor this morning. Was happy to pose for a portrait before being relocated into the garden. Not sure on species - would it be a Red Mason Bee?

A beautiful Common Chthonid seen in the garden. A few upturned bricks are kept in tucked away places as pseudoscorpions can often be found there.

A black bee is seen flying toward a head of purple flowers against a grey-green backdrop. The wings of the black bee can be seen either side of it, and they are blurred from the speed of flapping.

This is the reason for growing Cerinthe in the garden. Time spent watching (and listening to) the Hairy-footed Flower Bees is time well spent.

Learn a few words of Spanish. Saying hello, and thank you in the native language of any country you visit is a good way of showing you appreciate being a guest in their county.
