Version 2.2.0 of SatSquatch has been released! This update brings the following changes:
- User login for syncing subscription and user data between platforms
- MRMS gridded lightning
- Opacity slider for overlays
- Some small UI improvements
- Misc. bug fixes
We just released the new WxByte website, along with a new web version of SatSquatch!
Subscriptions are currently limited to the platform you purchase them on, but we are working on an update to allow you to link them.

As of earlier today, all SatSquatch GOES-East products have been updated to use data from the newly operational GOES-19 satellite!
The tornado threat is increasing this evening across LA and MS, as storms develop within a tornado watch and an environment with STP >2.
If any satellite layers are behind a paywall, then that is a bug. Can you send us a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
Significant severe we is expected across much of the Midwest and Southeastern U.S., with tornadoes and destructive straight line winds the largest threats. SPC mesoscale discussions are already out, and storms are rolling.

Also, not sure what you mean by “no in between”. There’s a monthly subscription that you can use at $5/mo, cancelling any time. The $50/yr actually gives you two free months baked in 🤷♂️

We’ve added a ton of new features after having to completely rewrite the app, and rather than raise prices, we’ve kept our same $5/mo price we’ve had from 2016. We’ve added far more value to that cost, PLUS free stuff.

We made the app free (was a $10 purchase), made all of derived satellite layers free (true color, vis/IR composite, snow/ice RGB, fog detection RBG, and day band microphysics RGB) free.

Widespread Elevated to Critical Fire-Weather conditions are expects across portions of the Southwestern and Eastern/Southeastern US today, where low relative humidity, dry fuels, and high winds are expected to overlap.
