Measles is NOT "just like chickenpox". It can kill years later. This woman was so brave for coming forward with her story.

I have to disagree on this.
There has been massive amounts of piecemeal scientific inquiry that build up a compelling body of evidence speaking against a lab origin.
On top if that, a lot of "human" intelligence came also to light discrediting ideas of a lab leak. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrsV...
Another advantage: while traditional tilted panels facing south show midday saturation, peaking when the grid is often full & prices low, the vertical bifacial system facing east/west shifts production to the morning and afternoon hours when need is greater. Also, less problems with snow in winter.
Interesting summary of journal article in Scientific Reports documenting improved performance for bifacial rooftop PV systems over conventional tilted monofacial rooftop PV systems across seasons in the UK.

When sellers of risk mislead parents freely, calling it "consumer choice" protects a business model, not families. [3/3]
The question I wished that she had asked about protecting children from the severe consequences of poor choices is, “When should government intervene when for-profit sellers or risk overstate benefits and downplay risks, deceiving parents into poor choices?” [2/3]
Lena Wen asks when government should intervene in people's poor choices. Having seen an E. coli infection, like those from raw milk, cause hemolytic uremic syndrome, leaving a child needing a kidney transplant, I know where I draw the line. [1/3]

Please, thank you, yes ma’am, no sir, hold the door for people, say excuse me, eat what you’re served, give a thank you wave when someone yields, tip 20%, go to the same spot to eat regularly, talk to your neighbors, cut the the kids some slack, it’s Sunday league not USL, say cheers, buy a round.
Adding to my thread of news on the global response to oil/gas shocks created by us.
EU: “Europe cannot afford to remain exposed to increasingly frequent energy shocks Every delayed investment in the energy transition risks greater cost for society at a later stage."

The Strait of Hormuz crisis is doing something a decade of subsidies and mandates struggled to achieve:
making millions of people want an EV who previously discounted them.

Fossil Fools (from Steve Sack)
Eye-opening piece from the NYT on how the Iran War's fossil fuel disruptions are accelerating demand for Chinese clean tech with BYD and CATL among the biggest beneficiaries. Steve Sack's "Fossil Fools" cartoon (below) captures the irony perfectly.

Hungary has chosen Europe.
Europe has always chosen Hungary.
A country reclaims its European path.
The Union grows stronger.
In Hungary, two pre-election polls released after voting closed today show Peter Magyar with substantial advantage over Victor Orban. www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...

Wow, #hungaryelections turnout at 5pm was already higher (74.2%) than when the polls closed at 7pm in 2022 (70.2%). Change is in the air.
The Tin Man (USA) and China (Robot) are in Oz. China is on the Yellow Brick Road walking on the path to "The Future" carrying a solar panel and a wind turbine. While the USA is on a dirt path marked "The Past" with a bucket coal and a barrel of oil.

“This latest shock to the global LNG supply could permanently change global consumption to other energy sources. … Should regional public policies shift away from natural gas and toward coal or renewables, Asia LNG demand growth may not resurge even under sequentially lower natural gas prices.” 6/6

In 2022, @vanityfair.com and @propublica.org reported a "Complex and Grave Situation" in Wuhan.
Analysis by @katherineeban.bsky.social and @jeffykao.bsky.social was based on a farscical investigation led by Bob Kadlec.
This post shows how they were duped by a half-billion dollar air conditioner.
Well worth reading. @wendyorent.bsky.social demolishes the latest 176-page dump from bioweapons conspiracist Kadlec.

As a fellow glass half full person I agree with every word here. Clean energy is moving faster than most mainstream media and politicians understand. We have to keep telling this story better and better.
Tonight in Budapest’s Heroes’ Square, a sea of young Hungarians—who’ve only ever known Orbán’s corrupt, suffocating regime—are packed together, singing, chanting, and daring to dream of freedom again.
Their hope is raw, their courage is real. The heart of Europe is beating in Budapest tonight. 🇭🇺❤️🇪🇺
12.7 million battery electric vehicles were sold globally in 2025.
In 2010, the number was barely 10,000.
In China, 1 in 2 new cars sold last year was electric.
The transition is happening faster than almost anyone predicted.
