If you're a writer who uses generative ai for your cover art or promos, you're a bum. "I wrote it all myself though." Nah, I can't trust that now. And I do not give a fuck anymore. How would you feel if an artist drew a cover, then generated a whole novel?

Be better.

Adding in this also applies to illustrators or visual artists that use Gen AI to write for them. This street goes both ways!

Tired of seeing digital artists and traditional use it to write descriptions of their work or blurbs to sell it, and then in the same breath scream about how bad Gen AI is.

I admit I've been so lost in the grind of just being in my work that I've completely ignored the signifance of this day until now. I treated myself with my favourite meal at least but perhaps when all the events are done, and I have time again just for me, I can be in the moment just a little more.

I hate to sound like a cliche... but it sincerely doesn't feel real. Maybe it's imposter syndrome as I think 'I didn't do this all with just art. There had to be something that discredits me' but no. I had rough years and I survived them by adapting appropriately to keep this dream a reality.

As I watch the date on my computer clock switch to April 9 I have the realization that I have officially made it to 5 years as a full-time artist and business owner. No suplimental/side job outside of my art. I pay my rent, car, health insurance... even save for retirement all with just my art.
