I wrote a book about a war that solved nothing. Or as the inimitable Cleyvis Natera put it, "a timely, critical work of nonfiction that illuminates so much of what we're living through today."
I wrote a book. It comes out April 14. It’s about useless wars and betrayal.
Also, it’s good. Like, really good.

"Drenching the family narrative with the frail complexities of love and memory, Ramírez decouples it from Colombia’s stereotypical violence to claim her own piece of its story." Read Kirkus Reviews on THE VIOLENCE by @aeramirez.bsky.social, out this April! www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews...
The US supreme court has ruled that schools must give children the chance to opt out on faith grounds from listening to storybooks that feature gay and transgender characters, in a landmark decision that will be seen as a win for religious rights in education.
Ossoff: "If we allow Affordable Care Act benefits to expire, as this bill would, more than a million Georgians will pay more for health insurance next year. A family of 4 in Clayton County making $65k a year - that's a $2,600 increase...the AJC reports 300k Georgians would lose insurance altogether"
Resentment toward imaginary poor freeloaders makes up like 90% of these people’s personalities and 98% of their politics
Chris Murphy: "This is the most deeply immoral piece of legislation I have ever voted on in my entire time in Congress."

This morning was by far the best snow of the week in #Pittsburgh. Just after sunrise a heavy band of snow came through the city and it created some magical scenes from pretty much everywhere. I was on the West End when it started and just before the city disappeared I was able to capture this view.
It's so lovely to be back in Pittsburgh.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
