This episode is so in line with how I view both the original series, and many early seasons of TNG.

It’s not a serious morality play, it’s camp. And those were basically the two kinds of episodes of Star Trek for the longest time.

Yes, I teach high school Latin, and this is what I tell my students. English is a dramatic language, and shares much more with German grammar than it does with Latin.

The fact that 60% or so of English vocabulary comes from Latin is due to the Norman invasion in the 11th century.
