And yes, I am indeed releasing 4 new Romantasy novels (self-pubbed this time!) in 2026. I wrote them in 2017, having no idea that the genre would take over as it has! Pre-order links sooooon! Covers by Christina Murphy AKA Paper or Pixels!

It's surreal to think I've been at it with @prairiecomicsfest.bsky.social for 10 years. I've been breaking my brain the last three weeks on long-form business plans & program dev w/ our core team & writing every grant I can apply for. It's so hard. Yet I can't imagine myself doing anything else.

Our entire house is OG late 1960s, covered in wood panelling, Tyndall stone, and linoleum. I have absolutely no desire to renovate any of it as long as I draw breath. I’m a grannycore influencer.

As I age I realize I am no longer adventurous/stubborn/passionate Jo March, I am Beth March longing to just be at home and die in my bed and tell everyone HA! NOW IM THE ONE HAVING AN ADVENTURE, SUCK IT! Also there’s a piano.

The moral of this story is that I’d die without him and I live in heaven already and I’m shocked that I got so lucky. Me, a soft garbage.

He also built a snow fort with our kiddo today while I Zine Market’d.

Yesterday I was exhausted + crampy + sore + ennui’ing, so Peter said “you should have a hot bath!” Which I did, then I crawled into bed, though the duvet was gone, but I did not care, then he came barrelling upstairs & threw the duvet onto me THAT HE HAD PUT IN THE DRYER WHILE I WAS IN THE BATH

The wrong piece of trash got picked up in this video. A former pastor advocating for more criminalization of the impoverished? What a fucking look.

Ok and also...people are feeding their likenesses into this like it's a FB quiz and they have to enter all their lived experience to figure out what kind of fruit they are. Big data mining problem?? Big litigation grounds???? CMON.

& yeah, these shows are expensive to put on. Get that. Facility fees are ^^^ & sponsorships are needed! But allowing Bell to get away with this because they paid top $$$ ain't worth it if you, as a corporation, purport to support artists. Show it. Else you'll see many artists, who support you, leave

Artists provide actual commissions drawn with their human hands at these shows as part of their income. I don't care that this activation is in the corporate area away from artists. Fan Expo is supposed to protect participating artists from this bullshit. Disappointing but also, not surprised.

It's expensive to have a table at Fan Expo. To walk in & see a booth using stolen art, undercutting artists who kill themselves to get into these shows, is abhorrent. As a show organizer this is a huge insult to the folks giving Informa interest-free loans (table fees) to run these shows.

“Most GenAI systems do not retain feedback, adapt to context, or improve over time,” the study said. Without these traits, long-term integration remains costly and ineffective.

The hype around generative AI led to high expectations in boardrooms. But the report suggests that many of the investments have not translated into better profits or meaningful cost savings yet.

Shocking.

Just sitting with my thoughts in silence felt like a rare gift. Felt no urgency to check messages in the car since the option was removed. Felt present. Then felt sad bc this is def missing from our everyday lives. And pretty much can't escape from it en masse as phones are ubiquitous w/ necessity.

I did of course have to make sure I found a parking lot with a machine, since the City removed cash/card meters from the street, so you can only pay by phone. I had my laptop, so with wifi I could work/send messages. I didn't feel deprived by not having quick access to social media, my camera, music

I left my phone at home yesterday in the kiddo drop off/get to city hall on time rush, and honestly...I felt free.

Then on the same day your Trekkie husband is like “oh I’ve got to show you this one Voyager episode” and it’s the one where Neelix dies & 7 resurrects him and he’s like “my entire belief system has been shattered because there was nothing there on the other side.” How was your day 🪦

Parenting is so great bc every day my kid hits me with bangers like “did you know that when you die, you don’t ever come back?” And you have to smile and say “yes, that’s right,” and be brined in existential dread while he pivots to Legos.
