Oh sounds like a good experiment! Iirc I tested the gamma sensitivity of my RadStar and my 10 uCi cs137 only increased the readings a little.

Do you think this is due to radon emanated from the plate, or due to the meter mistaking betas for radon?

Oh yeah they're amazing, the 9DP is such a great dose rate meter. I also love analog style digital displays, one of the reasons I love these meters.
