At last week’s cocktail reception, @klustout.bsky.social introduced the exhibition & Marans, who spoke about the workshops & how they changed the lives of every participant. Jeff Rotmeyer, Founder &CEO of ImpactHK, also spoke about what the charity does and why kindness matters for these people.
“The First Night” is the FCC’s April Wall Exhibition, which showcases photographs and narratives that allowed these individuals to tell deeply personal stories about their first night on the streets.
In 2025, FCC member & professional photographer Ben Marans collaborated with ImpactHK to create a series of workshops for those who have experienced homelessness. The participants gathered weekly to learn technical skills, the art of visual storytelling & to find their voice through #photography.

Hong Kong’s first neon sign went up in 1929 and was followed by a boom in the 1950s due to an influx of experts from Shanghai resettling in the city. Since then, #HongKong has become the global hub for a community of neon artists & enthusiasts.
Hong Kong’s iconic #neon signage began with the discovery of noble gases in 1898. The unique properties of neon, argon & other elements were used to create commercial signage unlike anything seen before. Neon quickly took off in the US, Shanghai & eventually Hong Kong.

Eudora Wang, a former Clare Hollingworth Fellow & current FCC member, met James Allen in Bert's Bar in 2018. Unbeknownst to the both of them at the time, they would begin dating the following year & eventually got married last October in the FCC's Main Dining Room in front of all their loved ones.

Aitken spoke about his book alongside fellow prison faith experts at an FCC Club Lunch moderated by Jay Ganglani, a former Clare Hollingworth Fellow & member of the Club's Professional Committee.
Aitken is also the author of "Prison Letters: With God's Love, I Can Scale these Walls" which was published by Christian Faith publishing in 2024. The book offers a glimpse into how Hong Kong's prisoners overcome their difficulties & grow in their faith while serving time.
Bruce Aitken first arrived in Hong Kong in 1972 & since then has become a spiritual mentor for the city's foreign prisoners. As host of "The Hour of Love - Prison Visitation on the Air" which is on every Sunday night on AM 1044, Aitken relays prayers of encouragement for those behind bars.
Speaking at an FCC Club Lunch, she elaborated on her investigative reporting on OpenAI’s internal management & business strategies + how the company’s decision-making has impacted lives within & beyond the tech world.
