OK - I've never come across an instance such as that here in the UK, though I can't say it's never happened or never will. TBH, I'm not sure which side I would come down on, all things considered. I certainly think that less use of phones by kids is probably a good thing overall.

Surely the teachers and activity supervisors will continue to have phones so that parents can be contacted should an emergency arise?
