Honking policy on energy though, and not having an army is completely impractical. There’s genuinely not a decent option.

This was so predictable. Socially conservative MPs who only share the same opinion on one issue, was never a good basis for a political party. Complete rabble.

Imagine being part of the 17% who thinks an Afghan terp should be deported. One way to announce yourself as a nobhead!

How about we just represent facts and deploy critical thinking? Removing all of the guff from politicians would be a good start. He’s an absolute helmet.

People don’t care about policy though, they only care about ‘stopping the boats’ really. Plainly clear in the polls, as that is Reform’s only message, and they’re doing so well. They can’t win that argument so they’re just pandering to Farage. The rest is semantics.

Screams of Priti Patel’s little Israel sortie. Back in government in a few months.

“They won’t remember”

I get you’re scared of reform, but people aren’t going to associate labour with hardline immigration policies. No point alienating your actual voter base for this. Doesn’t make any sense.

She has been a politician for far too long so she’s forgotten how to be a human being. Blair managed to win elections without pandering to the far right. You’d think they may have studied some of his messaging. I reject that the UK has become any less liberal as well since 2005. Grim.

Doubling down and showing unwillingness to consider that they may have got this wrong, would not be the approach I’d go for tbh. I get they need to appear as an authority on the subject, but I don’t think this story would have made the Guardian if they had nipped it in the bud quietly.

As somebody who would have been classified as a “mischling” this is quite troubling. I don’t think there is any bad faith at play, but imo curatorial nuance doesn’t come into this, it’s about fact. Even converted Christians were persecuted. They should at least disclose the sources advising them.

How can you stay on as homelessness minister when you’re personally contributing to homelessness? 😭 why wasn’t she sacked on the spot?

Son just seemed to get it from the word go. He actually could have left us on a number of occasions but stuck it out, as he felt a true connection with the club. Nobody was more deserving of that trophy in May. I am immensely proud that he played for Spurs.

There are some absolute ‘wrong-uns’ in this world aren’t there? Jesus wept.

Root is making it look like he’s batting on concrete, and bethell made it look like he’s batting in no man’s land on the western front. That was terrible.

Both brothers are absolute dickheads and bang average. Their dad probably plays golf with Key or something

Krishna is really not good enough to be giving chirp to the second best batsman of all time. Jadeja is the only one you’d probably accept copping it from really.

The former Attorney General of Israel, Michael Benyair is now calling Israel's actions in Gaza genocide.

"To eternal shame. Jews, who suffered a genocide 80 years ago, are committing genocide in Gaza. Shame, rage, and sorrow"

Gazans Are Dying of Starvation

My overwhelming memory from Hebrew school is being young and seeing images of ancestors starving in the camps. “Never again” was our religion. Here is the paper of record today. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/24/w...

What are they trying to achieve here, they can’t knock 400 runs off so why are they trying to hit every ball for six. It makes no sense. Surely a draw is better than a loss?

Crawley laughing when shelling a clanger kinda sums up the lack of seriousness that this side displays far too often. When it’s good it’s really good, but when they get it wrong they just look like absolute clowns. Just doesn’t seem like they care and it’s all a big joke.

Doesn’t matter how good you are at batting with this one dimensional bowling attack. Broad and Anderson were freaks and incredibly hard to replace, but it’s quite depressing how pedestrian their replacements are

One of the greatest test match knocks of all time by Ben Duckett, regardless of the result. Given the scale and the pressure of chasing 371 on a day five pitch, that was insane.

Saw the Wealdstone Raider at some traffic lights in Harrow and I’m actually ashamed I recognised him. Stopped short of shouting “you want some” out of the window though.

Thanks for the trophy, but that’s a totally justifiable decision. Keeping him on would have been an emotional decision, not a footballing one. His system has been totally found out in the Premier League.
