I was happy that Keith Lockhart was honored for his many contributions to music and Boston alike. A lovely event, all around…

Thanks, I’ll tell him! He’s an amazing photographer. That one was taken on his phone, but you should see the artistry when he brings out the actual pro camera and gear! A car photo he took appeared in a car magazine a few years ago!
It was! And to cap it all off, Paul Revere and William Dawes got on their horses (waiting at the front door), and rode off to inform the public all about it!
I mean…Boston knows how to give a party!
Just wanted to also share with you this gorgeous photo my son took as we left the Old North Church. The sky was foggy-misty…and perfect for this shot!
Paul Revere on one of the large screens set up at the front the Church so that folks sitting up in the galleries could see what was going on. Here, he’s lighting one of the lanterns for the recessional. (I must be wicked old because Mr. Revere told me he had been a longtime listener to my radio show!)
Keith Lockhart delivering his inspiring keynote address from the Old North Church pulpit.
Keith Lockhart sitting between his wife Emiley and Governor Maura Healey in the front pew, watching the musicians on the front screen as the Boston Pops Esplanade Brass Quintet entertains the crowd.
As the Boston Pops Esplanade Brass Quintet entertained, there was an indoor “fireworks” display! The whole front of the Church became the July 4th night sky!
Good morning, my friend! As promised, here are a few more photos from Thursday’s “Lanterns & Luminaries” event honoring #KeithLockhart at the #OldNorthChurch. A grand #Boston style kickoff to America’s #250th. #PaulRevere himself led the processional! (Clic on pics to enlarge and read descriptions).
Thanks!
What a beauty of a day for the Marathon. Enjoy!
They mention that in his program book bio!
It was a wonderful event/evening. I’m so happy Keith was chosen to be the honoree in America’s semiquincentennial!
Lovely event all around…
Thanks, but it was Keith’s big night! (And a big night for the Old North Church. It’s their big fundraiser for the venerable historic landmark)…
Here’s the outside of the program book! “Lanterns & Luminaries” honors shining examples of those who light the way for the city and beyond.
Couldn’t fit all of the program, so you missed the part about the processional into the church led by Paul Revere!
The musicians are Tripp & Toddy. They played colonial-era tunes to welcome guests…
When I went in for my mic check, I saw the Golden Lantern that would be presented to Keith Lockhart later in the evening. Beautiful warm glow when they lit the candle for him. More event photos tomorrow!
Good morning, my friend! It’s #PatriotsDay holiday in Mass! I mentioned Fri I’d been to a great event Thurs eve: “Lanterns & Luminaries” at the Old North Church. I’d been asked to introduce my friend/this year’s honoree, #KeithLockhart! Here’s Part-1. Part-2 tomorrow. Clic on pics to read more! 🇺🇸🎆🎇⛪️
That’s a beauty! And a lot of work!
Safe travels!

You guys are awesome! How fast your babies have grown!

A week after the forsythia blooms, my flowering trees seem to say, “Oh yeah? Well, look at this!!!” (One of my favorites year after year…)
I stopped planting tulips for years because the deer ate them all. Ate Them All. But…couldn’t resist planting a few bulbs last fall, “Waterlily Tulips,” which are new to me. Notice that there is an entire bloom gone on the right, and the tops of one next to it are munched half-way down. 🤬🙄
I promised 4 pots of cheery pansies that they would be going to a good home.
…and something called an English Daisy also cried out to be adopted. Look at those sweet faces. How could I leave them behind?! No idea where they’ll be planted because almost every square inch of space is occupied….but I’ll find a place.
Good morning, my friend! Happy #FriYay! Up way too late at a fab event (I’ll tell you about Mon)! But first, it’s our traditional week’s end #respite in #mygarden. The flowering trees are showing off; deer bites on my #tulips (🤬) plus 2 pots of flowers I just brought home! #HelloSpring #SpiritLift🌷🌸

Things I’ve learned:
Hugs are way better in person. Flowers are better spirit lifters than concrete. 🌷
