Hello from the roller derby and welcome! I do have multiple teammates with hypermobility. But you probably know your body best of course. However, if you happen to enjoy rules and filling in papers, blowing a whistle etc., we have many a non skating official role. The community is super fun!

Interesting to hear! For me the colours seem simple because often it's easy to just see. Though my team is one of the "problems" colourwise since our colour is like a turquoise and we're always called blue. I have once been tripped by that because another team in similar hue called theirs green.

So not a fan? I haven't had a chance to try them but my initial reaction is I don't like them. But I'm not sure if it's because I don't like change or because it's genuinely a bad idea.

Me, daydreaming: "oh I wish something happened to me so people would show me that they like and care about me"
Also me, when I mildly hit my head at roller derby and people are trying to be kind and helpful: "stay back, chill, I'm fine, no worries, no one look at me actually"

(I am indeed fine)

Aww, true, the bit about how we will not have different things does sound like lyrics now that you say it!

And I will not miss them and we will not have a whatsapp group to keep up with each other. We don't follow each other on social media. It's a mutual feeling that we're not outside work friends, but everything we've been through and all the inside jokes just exist.

Coworkwers are such a weird social tie. I've worked with these guys for 7 years. I know so much about them and im some ways am invested in how their life is going. But when the factory closes this summer for good, I know we will be standing there outside the factory like "ok, hava a good life".

In my friend group I was one of the first to have a fidget toy bowl in the living room and I'm so glad now almost all my friends have one. I feel so seen and loved when I'm hanging out and my friend just gives me their bag of fidgets to rifle through and try.

And the lilac edition I've seen named pink grapefruit and either waldmeister, wild flower or blossom. Which, kinda valid, since I would not know what waldmeister is if I didn't officiate roller derby in Europe and always pick the green brause powder of that flavour, given the option.

It fascinates me how redbull localizes their drink flavours. I bought the old white one and the Finnish flavour was called coconut blueberry. In english it seems to just be called coconut berry, though the website states that the flavour is blueberry. The can I bought, however, is Gusto cocco-açai.

It tricks me over the nervousness of talking to a new person. I just tell myself "okay this is kind of like talking to Joonas, I know how to do that".

Met many new people at a friend's party and an autistic strategy I have is that people remind me of others I know so I just kind of use my model for interacting with the similar friend I'm familiar with and then modify it when I get more familiar with the new person.

Yes, that's basically us every roller derby event we see each other at. :D

Like even the odds that me and her both play roller derby and met at all are crazy.

I learned that someone with the same first name and birth year as me also has the same middle name as my given middle name was. :0 The wild thing is that my first name is rare, like 200-300 in Finland recorded ever. My birth year, there's 3 of us, me, her and some guy.

An edited screenshot of Patrick Star naked on a bed wearing a night cap, looking really happy. He's on his tummy and a bit of a butt crack is showing. The picture has an added phone in his hand, the number 33 on his arm and some scuffs. The text says "Sitting on my bed, messaging my derby husband after practice instead of showering"

Love to debrief after roller derby, but I should really shower.

Luckily I could pop the lense back in, the phone currently charges and none of these will crash on me right this second, but it's a game of russian roulette in what breaks next and when.

I fear life might become a bit expensive for a while for me: my laptop is super slow, my phone randomly won't charge, my cars wipers don't work and I popped a lense out of my glasses this morning. Oh and I've been needing to visit the dentist for like half a year.

Yeah, absolutely! I remember I used to have an excel on every outfit Reid wore, which... um... tracks for me.

I thrifted a dvd box of my favourite nostalgia copaganda, Criminal Minds, and honestly Spencer Reid is kind of gender goals.

Everyone really loves this hat. I'm at a roller derby tournament and basically every person that has seen me wear it either smiles at me really widely or tells me they love it. One said they just want to put me in their pocket.

I do find it funny as a concept that someone can be un-princed. Like birth rights revoked, you're Just an Andrew now.

I wonder if tigers or other big cats like churu. Or if someone has made lile a big churu for their lion or something.

Okay but to all Heated Rivalry fanfic writers and gay sports romance writers and such: Once there was a really high profile roller derby couple who organized a game where they both built a team and played each other to decide who is taking who's last name when they get married.

Like they have abandoned everything about gender they don't like. They hug their friends long and sweet. Talk about the complicated feelings refereeing and life sometimes gives them. They paint their nails to match the stipy shirt or their whistle if they feel like it. Put bows in their beard.

I play roller derby and the best men I know are roller derby referees. Being around a culture with many trans people, many of the cis people have given a hard thought to gender at some point. And even though they came out of it cis, they're intentional about it now.

Gender euphoria from yesterday: a new teammate I don't know that well wordlessly handed me a soda bottle and I, without a thought, opened it and handed it back to her and she said "hah, I knew you were the right person to ask".
