So have I - over 13 years in brand marketing, social + influencer strategy over here, and I'm just trying to explain that this app was very different than IG or Twitter or whatever. It was actually beneficial and didn't make you feel like crap. No one would've been this bummed to see IG go away

The right thing to do here would be to introduce actual privacy laws like the EU's GDPR, but alas, President Musk, Zuck, and our octogenarian congress will never allow something so logical to happen.

You don't understand. I learned more in 1 year on TikTok than I have in 13 years on IG. It was a goldmine of an algorithm, a lifeline for many in terms of community, and MANY creators' primary or supplementary income source. The ban is BS. They just don't like that big American tech doesn't own it.

I wasn't able to sand all the finish off, so unfortunately staining was out of the question. I painted them glossy black instead and love how they turned out!

I let my 4yo do whatever and fix it all when she goes to bed hahaha

Ok lol so I learned a lot in this process 😂 no matter what I tried I couldn't get all the finish off so instead of staining I decided to paint them in a gloss black. Only to learn that this type of chair is traditionally painted anyway because the seat, legs and back are made of all diff woods
