At the end of the day, filo-americans are more american if anything. Just have filipino as an ethnicity, and i get it. Immigrant parents wanting better lives for their children, but in the end they know more about american society than filipino society.

outside of that, many filipinos dont have homes and live in squatters, or homeless, or in properties that the government can take anytime they want. Many eat leftovers from fastfood taken from their trashbags to be cooked again and sold

You will have to talk to a lot of people in the working class and the lowest of lows. People here have different bubbles that often theyre too comfortable to step out of it. In my bubble i can afford most things though there will be times of financial struggle

Racism is when we were seen as "primitive" due to our skin/in tandem at the time with slavery in the US, not to mention that guy said the slur that spaniards called us in colonization era. ☠️

That is common and honestly i can give a leeway to that cause like?? i can see why ppl would be confused and how it also can be related to racism at times??? so i get it aiahshs understandable, i also confuse them cause they just start with white skin 😭

Racism in the philippines IS caused by many colonizations, ads of whitening skin, bleaching, glutha...the list goes on, and yes, the US is a huge firestarter

I saw a post of how "racism predates colonialism" which is untrue, cause the entire point of racism is white supremacy. Conflicts within different groups under the same ethnicity is BOUND to happen, obviously. Some have xenophobia against ppl with the same skin color...

i am cursed to have hobbies related to art so ill always feel insecure/not good enough- i just try not to wallow into it too much that it stops me from just having fun/doing stuff
