It's like the world has a troubled USA on the therapist's couch, and we're saying "If you feel this way, what changes can you make?" and the USA just stares blankly back at us. Then kicks us in the nuts as it leaves, doesn't pay for the session, and leaves a one star review.

We used to be able to call Doug Ford on his hotline, but now his bling is a jet.
Fixed income, cord cut and can't watch CTV (they broadcast on a VHF frequency my antenna doesn't receive properly). Also don't have Crave. SNL on Global was the one over-the-air thing I watched consistently.
He is cogent enough to recognize that the Pope’s admonitions were towards him. That level of awareness indicates that he’s not acting from dementia, but out of evil.
If only those charged with guarding against this would act. Rev 3:16
Cheese and crackers! I mean, I'd rather talk to AI cheese and crackers.
One of my top 5 experiences in my 50+ years of theatre going.

What's with :
1. film directors and hats;
2. theatre directors and scarves?

Today's Toronto Star and Globe and Mail talk about Yann Martel's book The Forgiven and the Forgotten. Its chapters can be read in any order. Readers of James Michener's 1991 The Novel will recognize this as the fulfillment of work he called Kaleidoscope. There are sample pages in The Novel. 1/2
I am a very foolish fond old man,
...
And to deal plainly,
I fear I am not in my perfect mind.
Passive aggressive of SNLUK to let Tina Fey say “pants” instead of “slacks”.
I’m pleased to say that we’re advertising for a permanent lectureship in early modern English Literature (grade 7). I’m happy to answer any questions via email. Please circulate.

All credit to Mark Carney and let's hope the all positive work continues and flourishes. One thing (not a disparagement,) and history buffs will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Lester Pearson said pretty much the same things in the 1950's and 60's.
I recall Jean Chrétien made a phone call in support of a constituent. The public deemed it inappropriate and he was driven from office. I thought it was overkill. The pendulum has not swung so far as to permit this.
Mikey is, for me, the centre of sketches. Weirdness and wackiness goes on around him. Without him, the jokes would just be bizarre goings-on.
He's like Bob Newhart with his patients--they'd say wild and abhorrent things and the incongruity with his normality makes it funny. It's quite an art.
Canada dit: C'est pareil pour nous. Nous avons été amis pendant longtemps, mais maintenant, tout a changé.
Stresses in the current system can be traced back to the Mike Harris government, & not just the taxation issue (successfully challenged by Catholic trustees btw) Doing away with local boards is the obvious goal, so we must consider the implications of our local schools being run from Mowat Block?2/2
Martin Regg Cohn’s Getting Rid of Trustees is the worst education- related opinion piece I’ve ever see in the Toronto Star. Budget problems are a direct result of underfunding— an iota of research will confirm that — not trustee malfeasance nor incompetence. 1/2
Has Dan Fesperman’s The Letter Writer been optioned for a movie or limited series? Have they signed Saul Rubinek to play the title character? Have they scouted Montreal locations to stand for 1940’s New York? Do I have to do all the work on this?
Thank you Kristin Rushowy, and thank you Toronto Star for putting this on the front page. This is another prong in the Conservatives attack on public education. Like the US Republicans, their greatest fear is a citizenry empowered with knowledge and understanding. www.thestar.com/news/gta/why...

Canada is now the first non-European country to be granted a membership in SAFE. This is a gamechanger program that means Canada can rearm our Canadian Armed Forces members more effectively and scale up our defence industries with more contracts overseas.
I propose to make universal the old policy of the Blackfriars conference at the American Shakespeare Center:
If you do not end your paper on time, you will be forced to exit, pursued by a bear. Literally, a bear will come take your paper from you.
The implementation of this was not thought out. How are hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of dual citizens living abroad going to get UK passports in less than a month? The process cannot be completed solely online--former passports and current non-UK passports (or photocopy) must be sent
My question, and I'll concede that it's trivial, is why does Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent look like 1999 Spin City Barry Bostwick?
FYI- Heated Rivalry books rule the current Canadian bestseller lists. There are 3 Rachel Reids on the UK Times list
Today's mass readings from scriptures: it's been years since I cared to see what the Sunday readings were. Today's concern the essential need for humility and then underscores it all with the Beatitudes. Now imagine if self-proclaimed Christian leaders acted accordingly.
